10th Anniversary
With 2006 being the 10th anniversary of the Euro Nats, we return to a county to be the first to hold the show for a second time. So you can be guaranteed that the GSRA will be arranging something a bit special to celebrate the occasion. I can assure that the beautiful town of Weilburg has something for everyone. There are gorgeous hotels and a picturesque castle where the show will be located. This is a truly, delightful setting.
We have decided to travel out a few days earlier as the party starts to get going on Thursday afternoon / evening. So we want to be there in plenty of time. We plan to travel out on the 08:15am ferry from Dover on Wednesday 19th July. This should, all going well, give us plenty of time to get to Weilburg and into our hotel / tent by late Wednesday afternoon, ready for a few beers and a meal. Thursday we plan to drive out to a venue of interest (TBC) with maybe a BBQ thrown in for lunch and then back in time to sign in.
The show and shine / prize giving goes on until Sunday afternoon, so we plan to stay in Weilburg until Monday morning, when some people will be making their way back to the UK. The ferry bookings are an open return and will allow you to travel home when you wish. For those wanting a more leisurely return Grahame Smith will be arranging a kind of Euro cruise with some of the European rodders joining him for a Thursday return in time for the Spernats. Grahame hopes to visit places of interest on his way back. – More details to follow.
I have arranged a good rate with the Ramada Hotel, Dover for Tuesday 18th for those who require accommodation.
