The “Pride of Methacton” newsletter is a monthly publication which delivers to our schools and community updates on the commendable achievements of our athletic programs and milestones reached by individual athletes. Please enjoy this installment of the “Pride of Methacton”, which focuses its attention on a recap of our fall sports seasons. Next month’s November edition will include our fall all-academic team, student-athletes of the month for September and October, and an introduction of our winter sports programs.

Head Coach – Steve Mahan

The Girls X-C Team finished the season at 6-3 which was good for 4th place in the PAC-10.

The highlight of the PAC-10 Championship race held at Heebner Park in Worcester was the winning performances of Jr. Kara Steinke in the Varsity race (Her 3rd PAC-10 Individual title) and a 1st place finish by Fr. Abby Konkoly in the JV race.

Junior Kara Steinke competed in Hershey this past weekend at the State X-C Championship race.

Methacton Boys Cross Country:

Head Coach – Steve Savitz

-Season 8-1 and 2nd in the PAC 10 Championship

-Curtis Watro won every race during the PAC 10 season, including the championship race and finished 28th at the district meet qualifying for the state championship race.

Methacton Football:

Head Coach – Paul Lepre

After tough losses toPottsgrove and Spring-Ford, the football team has strung three wins together in its quest to finish over .500 for the second straight year. After those losses, the team reestablished its goals to go out with a winning record. They are over halfway there and working hard this week to finish the season strong at Norristown this Saturday afternoon. Jeremy Reid, DillonAlderfer and Kyle Lowery have led the way playing very consistently over the past few weeks.

Methacton Boys Soccer:

Head Coach – Brian Robbins

-The boys soccer team finished with a 10-7-1 record overall, 7-5-1 in the PAC. Overall we tied for 3rd place in the PAC10 with 3 other teams.
-We had a winning record for the first time in 7 seasons and we had our best record in the PAC 10 since joining the league.
-Matt Carey led the team with 12 goals and Joe Germano was second on the team with 7 goals. Tony Rajabi led our team in assists with 8.
-Luke Herber was 1st team PAC 10; Matt Carey and Clay Henery were 2nd team PAC10 and Tony Rajabi was Honorable Mention PAC10.
-We return 8 players next year who started games for us this year and we will look to build on this year’s success.

Methacton Field Hockey:

Head Coach – Sarah Quintois

By the end of the Methacton Field Hockey season, the girls hit their stride and made it to Districts. Field Hockey finished 8-9-1 overall and 6-6-1 in the league. We qualified for districts and lost a close first round game 2-1 to CB West. Although we have graduating some amazing seniors from this years team, we have a lot of talent coming up next year and will be able to easily field another great team!

Methacton Girls Tennis:

Head Coach – Cathy Miller

-The girl’s tennis team won their third straight PAC10 team title. Freshman Michaela Codreanu won the singles championship and advanced to both the District One and PIAA state tournaments. Junior Lauren Simeone finished second in the league.

Methacton Golf:

Head Coach – Kevin Flanagan

The golf team won their second consecutive PAC-10 Championship this season. Brandon Vance won the individual title in the PAC10 and advanced to the district tournament. Congrats!!!
