PROJECT PREPARATION

The project to print should be prepared in any drawing program e.g. CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Corel Photo-Paint.

The format of project should be 58 x 90mm it is 2mm bigger from every side in relation to size of the card (54 x 86mm). The angles should not be rounded in the project. If the project does not have a background,[wyprowadzony na spad] the format of the project must be retained. That is why the format of the project should be limited by the rectangle on the lowest layer, without an outline and filler or (in case of raster file) framed properly the project in case of having a proper size.

• The objects must not be located in the distance smaller than 3mm from the edge of the card (54 x 86mm) except of the background. Considering the cutting tolerance there may appear some shifts of work regarding the edge of usage. That is why we advise not to place any frames around the project because lack of centricity may be visible.
• The background (also the objects which constitute the background) printed [„na spad”] should be lead to the format edge (58 x 90mm). If any objects stick out of the format of the project, they must be cut of.
• Colours (also photos and graphics imported to the project) must be in CMYK model. Please, do not send files in RGB model, because the printed colours may differ from intended, seen on the monitor.
• You should pay attention to possibility of appearing dissimilarities between colours in relation to printouts from printing machines and between image from the screen with regard to differences in print technology, colour display and type of matrix on which the cards are printed, and other factors which have impact to colour scheme (e.g. lamination).
• In order to obtain black colour profundity in the areas of [apli] of usage of black colour built from the components 84%C 74%M 62%Y 100%K.
• Colour value in one point must not exceed 320%. In works where this parameter is exceeded any complaints will not be recognized. (You must not build black colour from four 100% components).
• Probable error in colour saturation is +/-5%.
• It is unacceptable to generate the text and black background [apla] from four colours.
• In case of small degree of writing (below 6 points) or the other thin graphic elements versus should be avoided (Re. especially cryptographic type style).
• Thin lines, grids and other graphic elements should be in one colour. It also concerns types with small and medium degree of writing.
• Black texts with size less than 18 points on colourful background should be overprint. It is unacceptable to choose the background from under the inscriptions.
• In case of avoiding possible inaccuracy of fitting, there should be made trappings that are minimal overlapping of colours on one another.
• Bitmaps resolution should amount to 300dpi.
• The texts should be changed into curves.
• The project should be grouped. During sending your project, please enclose the JPG preview of averse and reverse with exemplary personalization (if any).
• The proofs should be made in technology which allows simulation of raster point’s growth in offset printing. The proof should be made after the last correction and from the materials passed to the print house. In other way it will not be reliable basis to print.
• The colour in finished product should be consistent with the delivered design, taking into consideration the restrictions arising from possibilities of mechanical engine, basis on which the print succeeds, materials delivered and other factors which have got an impact on the print (e.g. lamination).
• In case of linking the cards with various colouring into one edition and the print on metallic backing, the ordering person allows to change the colour saturation as it was in the primary project.
• MCARD does not bear any responsibility in recognition of piracy with relation to signs, symbols and graphics used by the customer in the graphic project.
Metallic cards – additional notice:
• We produce cards with metallic backing (gold, silver) in the following manner: On the whole card we spread metallic colour by silk-screen printing method (gold or silver), then we print the graphics delivered by you. A place where white colour appears in the project – finally will appear metallic colour (gold or silver). You may simulate it by printing your project on the yellow paper – it will give you a picture of dissimilarities appearing between the project and the product. There are two methods of obtaining white colour on cards with metallic backing:
• applying an additional Pantone colour (white Pantone method used for editions above 1000 pieces).
• appling of choosing metallic colour (it refers big elements). We are not able to apply choosing under the text (small letters, shadows under the letters). Golden colour tends to change the colour – your card will be darker than in the project. Silver colour is a neutral colour. Golden card may be print in a different way. We may put silver colour as a metallic backing and everywhere you want obtain gold we will print colour with proper components so finally you obtain gold colour. In this case in every place where white colour appears finally will be silver colour.

The file ready to print you should write in CDR format (Corel Draw) free version, AI (Adobe Illustrator) to CS3 PSD (Photoshop) to CS 3 CPT (Corel PhotoPaint) free version.
