April 15, 2013
The Tripoli City Council held a regular council meeting on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall with Mayor Ranard presiding. Also present were: Morgan Bergmann, V. Susan Cline, Dan Burgart, and Denis Ducker.
Mayor Ranard called the meeting to order with roll call. All councilpersons were in attendance.
Motion Ott second Homeister to approve the agenda. AA MC.
Mayor Ranard asked for public comments. Councilman Kirchhoff asked that spring clean up days be set.
Motion Homeister second Kirchhoff to approve the consent agenda consisting of minutes from the work session and the regular meeting on April 1, 2013; the treasurer’s report for March; and claims for $109,014.88. AA MC.
Discussion on repair of the street sweeper. Motion Kirchhoff second Ott to approve the repair at a cost of $2,849.39. AA MC.
Dan Burgart addressed the council on the fire department budget. He asked if they could purchase another coat rack and use the money budgeted for the lights on this item. Motion Homeister second Ott to approve them using their budget money as they see fit, as long as they do not go over budget. AA MC.
Councilman Woods asked if the citizens could drop off brush at the location the city is attempting to purchase for a compost site. Mayor Ranard clarified that this purchase has not been completed and until all the issues are resolved, no one is allowed to drop off brush.
Motion Kirchhoff second Woods to set the public hearing for May 6, 2013 on the Status of Funds for the housing rehab grant. AA MC.
The tractor pull was discussed. They will be installing light poles for this year and bringing in more clay. Councilman Homeister asked that Denis bring in more rock. Motion Sievers second Ott to approve the above listed items. AA MC.
Motion Woods second Kirchhoff to approve the purchase of a new police vehicle, and keep the old one for city use. AA MC.
Motion Homeister second Sievers to approve the request to hang ribbons on the street light poles for Lyme’s Disease. AA MC.
No update on the Bike Trail.
Councilman Homeister wished to have the sidewalk program clarified. The city will only pay half of the cost of the sidewalk areas that the city identified as bad. If a homeowner wishes to replace their entire sidewalk, the city will not pay for ½ of that entire area, only the bad areas as previously set.
Motion Homeister second Ott to approve the use of City Hall at ½ price for the Crane Creek Luther League. AA MC.
