Policy –Leadership Criteria Policy and County Wide Project Policy-Delynda reported that there will be a county-wide Leadership meeting to go over leadership and what we’re looking for when judging record books. This meeting will look at the “gray” areas of leadership. A question/concern about the possibility of doing either a state record book or a county record book, but not both since it is difficult to judge. If any leader would like to do a county-wide project, they need to contact Delynda.
Presentation – Karen Chesnut-no report
Record Book – Karen Chesnut-Delynda reported that there will be a meeting in November, but no specific date has been set yet.
Spring Show- Livestock- Neil Mathiesen-Delynda reported that the Spring Show books are on line and she requested that everyone look at them and report any type of grammatical errors to Marcel ASAP. Any errors that are found must be submitted in writing to Marcel via email. Lads and Ladies has been put back into our Spring Show. All Spring Show fees will remain the same as last year.
Small Animal-Nancy Cannon-Nancy reported that there will be a county-wide meeting for anyone interested in showing in Dog Care for Spring Show on November 18 at 4pm at Norton Hall. Everyone who is interested must be at this meeting. Afterwards, the small animal division meeting will take place at approximately 5pm.
Creative Arts & Sciences- Kim Scott
Horse – Delynda-Delynda reported that the book is done. She needs a member of the Horse Project to email Marcel with an “ok” before it can be printed.
- * Budget- discussion was held. Sandy Hazeltine asked why we were raising the commission of the livestock checks if we had a $20,000 “cushion” on the budget showing. Delynda explained that we need 7% based on our auction revenue sitting in our account that can not be touched in order for us to receive our waiver to have Spring Show. We are hoping to get a $5,000 sponsorship so that we can re-adjust that commission next year. Many people stated that our commission rate is still lower than many other fairs. If there were any specific questions, it was requested that they email Frank Muller. A motion to accept was made by Sandy Hazeltine and Katie Wilmot seconded. Vote was taken and passed unanimously.
- * Increase in Enrollment fees-Y/$15 & A/$10-motion made to accept the new fees was made by Cynthia Belgium and seconded by Nancy Cannon. Vote was taken and passed unanimously.
