· Grand Chancellor David Huey thanks all who sent cards to him while he was in the hospital for surgery and rehab. He came home on Monday, November 26.
· The Supreme Lodge/Temple charity for the next 2 years is the American Cancer Society. Chairman for Ohio is Bruce Bergmann, 5322 Avery Rd, Dublin 43016, 614-876-4354. Send donations to him and make check or money order out to the Grand Lodge.
· The charity of Grand Chancellor David Huey is the Crohns & Colitis Foundation. Roger O’Brien is the chairman for this charity. His address is 3145 Revels St, Springfield 45503. His phone is 917-399-4664. All donations are to be sent to him with check or money order made out to Grand Lodge.
· Special request from PGC Beverly Hammond. Her father, Paul, will be celebrating his 90th birthday on January 27. She would like for Pythians to send a birthday card to him on this milestone birthday! His address is 7614 Blacks Rd, Pataskala 43062. Paul has been a regular attendee of the Grand Lodge Convention and is a member of White Cross Lodge #308 in Johnstown. Note that this is a surprise!
· PGC R C Thomas was hospitalized and in rehab recently, but is now home. His wife, Lorraine, fell and injured herself recently. Their address is 2225 Shawnee Dr, Springfield 45506.
· Robert Aberl, a member of Steadman Lodge #205 and a longtime committee member of the Pythian State Bowling Tournament, passed away on Dec 4 in Toledo.
· Dan Kincaid of Durward Lodge #153 passed away recently.
· Past Supreme Chancellor Arthur “Archie” Block passed away on December 4. All lodges are to drape their charter for 30 days in his memory.
· Phil Morgan’s brother passed away recently in Florida.
· Dale Wysong received this 50 year certificate in front of his home lodge, Lafayette #37, on December 6, 2012! There were 18 members in attendance.
· Lafayette Lodge #37, Lafayette Temple #379 and Glenna Temple #543 donated items collected by them to the Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati. Also, Lafayette and Glenna Temples donated a check for $2000.00.
· Received word that North Star Lodge #452 in Essex will be starting work on some new members on January 22.
· Durward Lodge #153 will be celebrating 5 new 50 year members on February 9. The new 50 year members are Robert James, Thomas Lauer, Robert Thatcher, Merle Dutt and Paul Harmon. There will be a dinner, consisting mostly of seafood and it starts at 6:00.
· I hope that everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. The newsletter cutoff date is the 15th of every month. If you have any news to report, please let me know before the 15th. If you would like to announce a milestone birthday (80, 85, 90 etc) or anniversary (40, 45, 50, etc) let me know.
