Body Work & Counseling Referral List

Compiled by North Star Health Collective – January 2009 (updated)

This referral list is for anyone who would prefer healing services from a provider who is understanding, nonjudgmental and sensitive to the issues surrounding the RNC. The provider and the person seeking their aid will negotiate the logistics of service, (i.e., fees, record-keeping, confidentiality, etc.). The providers on this list are not working as a North Star representative or volunteer. They are doing their regular job. NSHC is not necessarily endorsing nor is it liable for anything related to these service providers. They are not listed in any particular order.

The providers are divided into two lists: one for healers who actually did volunteer with North Star during the RNC and other providers who are supportive of the work of North Star but did not/have not ever volunteered with North Star.

IF YOU CONTACT ANYONE ON THIS LIST, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TELL THEM YOU RECEIVED THEIR NAME FROM THIS LIST.

I am 64. I have been doing Reiki for over ten years. I received a master's degree in counseling and psychological services (1993) from

St. Mary's University in Minneapolis plus I have 30 years of experience working on myself using a body centered approach.

(4) Lovice Weller:

who teaches Authentic Movement which is a meditation practice that naturally quiets the mind and awakens and balances the body. With eyes closed, the Mover’s attention is gently withdrawn from the outer world of consensual reality and given instead to faithfully following inner impulses to move and to feel. Thus, the miracle of Present Time in a Living Body becomes the context in which to explore and to have one’s own authentic experience. In such a context, the range of what is experienced is limited only by the choices and readiness of the Mover and by the form’s single imperative: No Harm. As Mover, you begin to know the trustworthiness of the body’s wisdom. As Witness, you learn to hold space for this work without projection, analysis, or judgment. Together, the twin roles of Mover and Witness lead inevitably to a vitality and grace that originate from participating in What Is. Also important, the verbal style cultivated as experiences are shared afterwards creates a language of spacious respect forming a good basis for Life to speak to, and support, Life in Community.

Where:The Beautiful Studio 2242 University Avenue West (corner of University and Hampton) Suite 214 (second floor). Plenty of free parking just outside of entrance on Hampton Ave.
