President’s Message– We enjoyed hearing about genealogy last month from Sharon Hornback. It was also nice to have Peggy Brooksvisit. We hope to see you again. Sorry I missed thanking Kim Skagen for her help with Nutcracker in December. I also missed Maria’s birthday on January 11th and her anniversary in December. We will have a speaker at our meeting from “Days for Girls”. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 15th,Nancy

Secret sisters- Would you be interested in havingin a “Secret Sister”? We will decide at the meeting if this is something that everyone would like to do. Each member would draw the name of one of the other members and that would become their “secret sister”. As a secret sister you would give her cards for holidays, birthday, and anniversary.

Building 9 at Retsil –If you have donations for the Rehabilitation and Work Training Program at Retsil, bring them to the meeting. Items that can be used are towels, dishes, glasses, pots and pans, cooking utensils, etc.
USO – You can go to USO/GFWC.org and send messages to military personel.
Food Bank– At each meeting we are collecting food for the local food banks. Last month the food was donated to South KitsapFood Bank. Thank you, Cheryl for delivering the food. This month we will take it to another food bank. Bring non perishable food to the meeting.
Chico Salmon Park
Just a reminder that the first 2018 Chico Salmon Park work party is this Saturday, February 3rd from 10:00am to 1:00pm.Cookies are needed. If you would like to donate cookies for the park volunteers, please bring them to the park on Saturday morning, with a list of ingredients. If this time does not work for you, you can drop them off at Laura’s home on Friday with the list of ingredients.
Mother’s Day Baskets - Laurawillopen her house on Thursday, February 8th at 1pm to members to learn to make earrings for the Mother’s Day Baskets.
Reports – Reports are done, with the exception of a couple special reports. Thank you Laura, Julie, and Sally for your help.

ESO- Reading group – Continue to read and bring your book reports to Sally at our meeting. Need to know title, author, published date, number of pages, and a brief summary
Scarlet Road – We are collecting items for Scarlet Road, and organization helping women escape from sex trafficking. Items we are collecting include: Shampoo, body wash, tooth paste/ toothbrush, tampons/sanitary pads, underwear, socks, slippers.
GFWC - An international women’s organization dedicated to community service by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Together We are Living the Volunteer Spirit. The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is proudly represented in thousands of communities by dedicated volunteers working to better the lives of their neighbors, making towns safer and more beautiful and extending the hand of support and friendship to individuals near and far.
