Resources for the Global History and Geography Regents Exam

  • (Go to the Global History and Geography section)
  • You can use this website to study vocabulary terms, play review games, and practice interactive multiple choice questions broken down by different topics covered in Global 9 and 10.
  • *When you practice the interactive multiple choice questions make sure you also read the explanations for the right answers to help you understand the topics no matter how they ask it in a multiple choice question.*
  • This website is also very useful for Thematic essay review.
  • On the front Global page, you will see the content broken down into the major themes of Global History and Geography.
  • When you click on a theme you can then go through the different topics from global 9 and 10 that are associated with that specific theme. *We do not know which theme the regents will choose so reviewing these pages with help you not only be prepared for any thematic essay topic they give you but is another way to review the content so you are prepared for the multiple choice questions and the “outside info” portion of your DBQ essay.
  • Baron’s Regents Review Book
  • This review book costs anywhere from $5-$15 and is a good resource to use to practice old regents exams and to also review explanations of the correct and wrong answers for each test. There is also a glossary of vocabulary terms and a brief review of each of the topics covered in Global 9 and 10.
  • Old Regents Exam Practice ( )
  • If you are not able to get a review book you can access all of the old regents exams from this website along with the scoring keys.
  • Once you go to the link, click on a month and year and you will be able to then click on the test and open it up.
  • Take the multiple choice section, answer the DBQ short answer questions, and just make an outline for each of the essay questions (Thematic and DBQ).
  • Then you can go back to the original homepage, click on the same year again and then go to either to scoring or rating key.
  • Write down the topics you missed or were unfamiliar with and then go back to to review those topics.
  • Global History and Geography Regents Review Packet (click for link) or type into google search bar and click on first link.
  • This packet was created by another teacher in NYS but covers all topics from Global 9 and 10.
  • If you lost, misplaced, burned, or are just unorganized with your notes, I highly suggest you read through a few sections of this packet a night or use it when you are taking practice tests to search for some of the multiple choice topics that you may not know right off the top of your head.
  • Another Review Packet (click for link) type into google search and Global History and Geography Regents Preparation Packet 2009 and click on first link.
  • This review packet also has religion summaries, word association charts, and different graphic organizers that cover important topics.
  • Last few pages of this packet will be very helpful.

  • YouTube (

  • Below is a list of different channels that you may find helpful.
  • Hip Hughes WORLD HISTORY. Type in the search bar “hip hughes world history” and search for Keith Hughes WORLD HISTORY channel. There are 23 global videos that he has created that are about 10-15 minutes long and are very helpful for review. Make sure you are viewing his world history section and not US history

These resources along with your notes and materials from class provide you with more than enough tools for you to use to help you to succeed. The ball is in your court now and your success will be determined by how much effort you put in. Start studying now, break review into smaller sections rather than trying to cram, and ask me or the other global teachers any questions you might have while you have the opportunity to do so. Good luck and I hope you use these tools and find them helpful 
