SCC Meeting Minutes

**NEXT MEETING: May 11th @ 7:00 p.m.**

Old Business:

1. May Hot Lunch

  1. May 28th (Poutine)
  2. Need to figure out juice boxes or water
  3. Apples for snack will be cut up by SCC (1/2 an apply per person)


2. iPad Raffle

  1. Tana will check with her Tech guys what it will cost for her to purchase an ipad and she will let Milissia know so she can get the licence and stuff going
  2. Will launch raffle on May 1st

3. Vanier Bursary

a. Presenter – Justin will present since he will be there anyway
b. We only have one application for our Bursary, she met the requirements (Savannah Pinfold)

4. June BBQ – June 25th

a. $300 appx - The Hub hotdogs, buns, Watermelon, Juice, cups, napkins & Briquettes

b. There will be a $2 charge for hotdog this way we don’t over order and have lots of

leftovers due to summer

c. Ally will check on getting the buns, Watermelon, Juice, cups, napkins & Briquettes from Superstore

d. Justin will BBQ

5. School Zone Safety Committee

  1. Ensure staff uses our parking lot to help free up space on the street for pick up and drop offs of students
  2. Make sure Safety Patrollers are taking their job seriously

6. Picnic Tables (need installed)

  1. Tana will get Cory and Will on this
  2. Justin and Milissia will look into getting rocks for more seating around playground

New Business:

7. COOL place Garden

  1. Nicole will get a schedule done up for the summer
  2. Milissia and Ally will get it rototilled by May long weekend
  3. Plant easy Potatoes, carrots, beets, if this is easy to maintain this year we can expand

and do more next year

  1. All agree COOL place is something we don’t want to loose so lets maintain it
  2. Need to get another sprinkler and possible storage container

8. Read to Ride – SCC agreed to buy a bike helmet for Elise Donaldson should she need one.

9. Admin Update

  1. School wide guided reading (grade 1-4/5) started this week. It is every day for 30mins right after lunch. Teachers will meet Wednesday afterschool to evaluate
  2. Pre-K is being turned over to the YMCA for the fall of 2015-2016. They will share the current room with the Kindergarten teacher. (K – AM, Prek- PM)
  3. Report cards will change to be the same as the current 6-8 ones starting 2015-2016 year
