______

Organized by Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society

and

Co-sponsoredby 20 societies and universities

General Information

ICPNS’2010,the 6th International Conference on Physical & Numerical Simulation of Materials Processing, will be held on November 9-12, 2010 in GuilinCity, Guangxi Province, China.

The conference is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and is co-sponsored by 20 societies and universities around the world, including those from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China mainland, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan, UK and the USA.

This conference series, following the tradition of its five predecessors in Harbin (1990), Hainan (1997), Beijing (1999), Shanghai (2004) and Zhengzhou (2007), provides a forum for researchers around the world to present papers on recent advances in the overall field of physical & numerical methods and their applications in thermo-mechanical processing of advanced materials.

Both oral and poster presentations will be included in the conference program. Internationally known experts from various countries will deliver keynote/leadlectures at the ICPNS’2007. About 600 delegates from 40 countries will attend the conference.

Conference Scope and Topics

The conference will cover all aspects on Physical and Numerical Simulation of Materials Processing. It will focus on,but not restricted to, the following topics:

  1. Physical simulation and numerical modeling of materials and thermo-mechanical processing;
  2. The materials of subject including HSLA steels, TMCP steels, stainless steels, super alloy, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, magnesium alloys, composites, intermetallics, ceramics, polymer, shape memory alloy, opto-electronic materials, gradient materials, semiconductor materials and other advanced materials, such as metallic glasses and biomaterials, etc;
  3. The ultra-fine grain materials and nanometer materials.;
  4. The industrial processes of welding, bonding, heat treatment, stamping, rolling, casting/continuous-casting, forging, extrusion, superplasticity, self-propagating, high grade energy beam processing and other advanced technologies;
  5. Surface engineering and coating;
  6. Prediction and evaluation on structure and performance of materials
  7. Application of artificial neural network and expert system on material processing
  8. Computation materials science and molecular dynamics simulation;
  9. Development and applications of numerical simulation software;
  10. Prospects of physical simulation and numerical modeling on materials and thermo-mechanical processing in the 21st century.
