Stillwater FFA Captures Conduct of Chapter Meetings Contest

STILLWATER, Okla. — The Stillwater FFA Chapter won first place in the State FFA Conduct of Chapter MeetingsLeadership Development Event during the 2018 Oklahoma FFA Leadership Development Events at Oklahoma State University April 28.

The Stillwater team members include Mackenzie Gazaway, Tatum Disidore, Austin Hooten, Brennan Lacy, Kelbi Lacy, Cooper Hane and Riley Luginbill. The Stillwateragricultural education instructors and FFA advisers areRobby Branscum and Tanner Nipper.

Junior FFA chapters from Edmond, Kingfisher, Chattanooga and Madill placed second through fifth, respectively.

Contestants in the conduct of chapter meetings contest are judged on their ability to conduct chapter meetings in an orderly and constructive manner using parliamentary procedure as well as constructive and logical discussion.

The OSU College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources hosted the contest. This event is sponsored on the state level by Dr. Jack Pritchard and American Farmers Ranchers. The FFA Foundation Presidents Club will sponsor the Stillwater’s team’s participation in the national competition.

FFA is an integral part of the Agricultural Education division in the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education system. With more than 27,000 members and 360 chapters, the Oklahoma FFA Association is the fourth-largest state FFA association.
