Lawrence A. & Nettie H. Jones Scholarship

The LAJ Scholarship was created in 2007 to honor the legacies of the late Lawrence A. and Nettie H. Jones, founders of the Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapels. Our purpose is to honor their collective work ethic, family devotion, and community service through an educational gift of $1500 to a qualifying student. The student must exhibit the academic success, leadership and community involvement that Mr. and Mrs. Jones championed while serving the Kansas City community.

LAJ Scholarship qualifications include:

1.  Must be a high school senior and have been accepted to a college or university for the upcoming fall semester 2010.

2.  Must have a high school G.P.A of 3.0 or better. (Documentation needed)

3.  Must have completed 30 or more hours of community service. (Documentation needed)

4.  Must provide two letters of recommendation.

Applicants will be notified of their selection no later than July 30, 2012.
