Introduction:
Wishon is a secluded campground tucked away in the southern Sierra Nevada’s at 4,000 feet in the Sequoia National Forest. It’s located on the Middle Fork of the North Fork Tule River and the sites are guarded by large red woods. A creek runs through the campground and into the nearby Tule River. The Tule River is stocked with trout so there is plenty of fishing opportunities.
There are also several hiking trails nearby¸ with an easy one that starts right from the campground and follows the river. Other trails in the area are Doyle Trail, Hockett Meadows Trail, Black Mountain Trail, Summit Trail, and Sawtooth Pass Trail. Trip leader will have a map showing the trails.
There are also giant Sequoia groves within a ½ hour drive. Kayaking is another popular thing to do. The main attraction of this campground is the swimming hole and rock slides near camp.
