Position Description:

Program Assistant

Flagstaff Arts Council is a busy arts organization that hosts and organizes over 75 events per year, serving a public population of over 50,000 visitors. The Program Assistant is expected to work 10- 15 hours per week from May 2014 through December 2014. The Program Assistant intern reports to the Deputy Director of Community Engagement. Hired candidate is eligible for up to 3 credits if currently enrolled at Northern Arizona University. Position to be filled immediately. This is an unpaid position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Event Planning:

-  Assist in monitoring calendar for event bookings

-  Develop schedules and programs for certain events

-  Provide support for ArtWalk business recruitment and promotion each month

-  Provide support at concerts, auctions, fundraiser, and First Friday ArtWalk (some evening and weekend work required)

Box Office:

-  Create online box office for each concert

-  Print tickets for all concerts

-  Provide tickets to outlets

-  Oversee tickets purchased online; develop will-call lists

-  Manage seating charts in auditorium

-  Provides event support for concerts, receptions, performances and events

-  Assist at Box Office for each concert in and outside of venue

-  Assist with large-scale fundraising and awards gala in spring

Volunteer Management:

-  Provides support for recruiting and tracking volunteers

Facility:

-  Assist with facility rentals including but not limited to staffing, walk-through’s, contracts

Skills Essential to this Position:

·  Computer proficiency, with specific proficiency in Microsoft Office

·  Excellent customer service skills

·  Passionate belief in the importance of arts, culture, science and community
