William G. Lundy

William G. Lundy, 87, Salina, died Friday, July 18, 2008.
He was born July 10, 1921, in Camden, N.J., the son of Leslie and Marie (Kraemer) Lundy. He was a schoolteacher and wrestling coach at SalinaHigh School (later SalinaCentralHigh School) for 29 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church, the National Education Association and the American Legion. He was a warrant officer in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Sara, of the home. He also is survived by his children and their spouses, William L. and Bettye Lundy of Newcastle, Okla., Patricia and Gordon Fiedler Jr. of Tescott, Beverly and Robb Tomasevich of Fresno, Calif., and Joan and Jonathan Douglas of Kansas City, Mo.
Survivors also include grandchildren and their spouses, Leslie Millican of Moore, Okla., Gunnery Sgt. Shannon and Kellie Fiedler of Quantico, Va., Mitchell Fiedler of Newport News, Va., Sara Fiedler of Kansas City, Kan., Michael Ricklefs and Laura and Michael Dietmeyer, all of Fresno, Calif., Jodie and Jamar Madge and Andrew and Becky Douglas, all of Raytown, Mo., Amy Douglas of Branson, Mo., and Marcus Douglas of Kansas City, Mo.
Great-grandchildren include Madison, Noah and Drew Fiedler, all of Quantico, Mason Fiedler of Newport News, Joey and Aidyn Wigg, both of Kansas City, and Jamar Madge Jr., Brea Brown and Domnik Douglas, all of Raytown.
He is also survived by two brothers, James and Thomas, both of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Anita Marty of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Patricia Ledbetter of Pflugerville, Texas.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m.Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Paul Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Crown PointCemetery, Culver, with military honors by the American Legion and the VFW.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 21, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
