  • Review board decisions from prior meeting –Approved Bob Geiser for Rec 9-10 Commissioner. Shane Shirmer Assigned for Tball 5-6 commissioner.

Finance Report /
  • Looking at overall general ledger, have about $10,000 more mainly due to registration up by $7,000. For sponsorship, down about $2000 for MYBA, but individual teams up from $500 last year to up to $4000. That money goes directly to the team. League fees have gone up about $1300 outside Rec. Website technology expense has gone down by about half with the new website. Uniforms up about 3% mainly due to more players (prices stayed the same). Expect price increase for next year that may have to be factored into registration. Bingo account has about $10000 in it at this point. Will look at using this money to address field improvements.

Operations /
  • VP Update–Major action working background check info. Close to complete with Sting (need about 5). Next step is Rec ball. If coaches did it last year they are in the system. Teacher’s who have background check are ok.
  • Registration– Around 1113 registered, with 71 at the 3-4 age group. Total Rec around 709.
  • Equipment –Handout has been ongoing. Having been doing swap outs. Will be at shed at 12-1 on Sat to address any equipment issues.
  • Uniforms – 5 for 3-4, 12 for 5-6, 13 for 7-8, 9 9-10, 4 11-12, 8 13-14. Pickup for uniforms Monday and Tuesday 14/15th. Get uniforms out and check fit to re-order and then match size to kids.
  • Field Maintenance– Reagan 5 is done with fence moved back. Backstop was repaired. Mellert should have been completed today. School fields will be later but ready before season. Getting estimates for adding dirt to school fields. Will have execute vote. Cobblestone has been redone for fields 1 & 2 to fix problems with those fields. MYBA covered cost ($3800 per field) for repairs this year. Added dirt, regarded and adding drying agent.
  • Scheduling – Todd has started scheduling ages 9-14.
  • Umpires – Right now at 32 youth umpires with goal of 35. Starting training and registration Sat from 9-11. Will also have another one on 19th in the evening. All gear has been ordered. Will use Arbiter program to schedule and pay umpires. Will take registrations till May 31st. If teams want to have scrimmage, can send umpires to train. If coaches cancel games other than rainouts, they need to contact scheduler (Maxwell) that they will be canceled or they will not get any umpire.

  • League Director Update –Position still empty. Handed out picture forms for teams.
  • League Commissioner Updates –Will probably add at least one more team in tball. Practices will start for Tball on April 21st. Assigning 7/8 position to Bob Huntley. May add another team at 7/8.

Hot Stove / Tournament last weekend of April starting April 25th. Have 15 teams with 14 registered. Last team which is High school will be registered this weekend. Overall numbers in Hot Stove are down significantly. / Weight
Sting / Have 15 teams. Have 169 in one league and 168 in the other sting league. / Lucarelli
Sponsorship/ Fundraising / Uniforms are done with sponsors. Had about four contact last week with interest to get on uniforms but had to turn down. Will try to convert them to fence signs. Will focus on banner business over next few weeks. / Kuhar
New Business /
  • Calendar Update – Rec pictures except 3-4 will be April 29th. No changes to calendar.
  • Will form a committee to look at cutting sting down to 2 teams at each age group up through 10. For older ages, will evaluate keeping them till they get through the system. Will look at where to put 3rd/4th teams to play, whether hot stove or other league.
  • Had another sports association meeting with city of Medina with new Rec director. No key changes and will try to move softball from Reagan 4 to Reagan 6.
