Specific Speech Proposal Letter

One good way to market your skills and practice is to offer to give free speeches on acupuncture and Oriental medicine to your area Chamber of Commerce and service organizations, such as the Rotarians, Elks, and Women’s Club. The entertainment chairpersons of these organizations are always looking for people to speak in front of their members. The first step in writing a speech proposal letter is to find out the name and address of the entertainment chairperson or whoever is in charge of arranging such events.

Dear Mr./Mrs./Ms./Dr.______,

I am a local Licensed Acupuncturist here in ______and I would be extremely happy to give a free talk to the members of your organization on (title of talk). I think your members would be interested in hearing this talk because (give several reasons) [Example of reasons for a talk on Chinese medicine and Hormone Replacement Therapy to the Women’s Club: as females, I’m sure they are concerned about the safety of HRT after all the new research we have recently heard about on the news. Chinese medicine has safely and effectively treated the symptoms of menopausal syndrome and osteoporosis for more than two thousands years. The Chinese medical treatment of these conditions is without side effects as well as being relatively cheap and easy. In addition, considerable research published in China proves these therapies to be effective. It’s not just my say so.]

If you would like to discuss the possibility of my giving a talk on this or some other topic, you can reach me at the above numbers. As I mentioned above, I would be more than pleased for the opportunity, and I am flexible in terms of schedule.

Sincerely,

Joanne C. McCormack, Lic. Ac.
