Purpose of Job / The post-holder will provide line management and supervision to a group of recovery co-ordinators within the alcohol team & operational staff, as directed by the Service Manager.
The post-holder will oversee, and deliver the effective care co-ordination a pod working approach and pro-social model in creating a recovery focused culture within the alcohol team.
The post-holder will maintain high professional standards at all times, whilst ensuring measurable positive outcomes are achieved for the client group. The post-holder will contribute to the service to ensure that substance users consistently receive high quality services that adhere to the best practice guidelines and achieve high professional standards.
The post-holder will be responsible for contributing to the overall performance of the service to ensure that contractual output targets are achieved.
The post-holder will be required to work across a number of operational sites across the area as required and work flexibly within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision. This will include evening and weekend working.
The post-holder will be expected to take responsibility for personal development, identifying personal training needs and participate in regular supervision and appraisal.

Key Activities:

To provide regular supervision and line management to identified team members and contribute to the delivery of a quality service.

To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with local partners.

To oversee the effective care co-ordination of a pod and 1-1 working approach to engagement and therapeutic interventions proactively supporting the goals of recovery.

To support and guide the team to assess clients, prepare individual recovery plans and motivate service users to actively engage with their treatment journey.

To ensure effective provision of community based recovery focused interventions to clients both within core and shared care services.

To ensure services are provided across a range of operational locations as designated by the contract.

To ensure equality of service provision for both alcohol clients in line with the treatment model.

To contribute to the delivery of the programme.

To maintain a safe and welcoming environment ensure health and safety standards are adhered to.

To ensure regular consultation with service users.

In carrying out the above duties the post holder will:

Person Specification

Essential criteria:

Considerable experience of working within substance misuse/alcohol services with a clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services.

Knowledge of the issues facing alcohol misusers including social care, welfare benefits, health and emergency accommodation.

A recognised qualification in health and social care or currently working towards completion.

Experience of staff supervision and the ability to lead a team

Excellent knowledge alcohol and their effects.

The ability to liaise effectively with other agencies.

The ability to implement the CGL alcohol model throughout the service

The ability to form, sustain and disengage from professional relationships with service users.

The ability to foster new partnerships and to maintain constructive relationships with partner agencies.

The ability to maintain professional boundaries with all stakeholders.

Knowledge of a range of psychosocial and clinical interventions, including motivational interviewing techniques and ITEP.

Working knowledge of community based support/outreach practices.

The capacity to motivate, inspire and innovate staff and service users.

And the ability to:

Communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing.

Good IT skills and proficient on MS Office applications.

Show a capacity to work alone and the ability to keep calm under pressure.

Understand and have a commitment to the principles of equal opportunity and diversity.

Desirable criteria:

Access to own transport

Knowledge of local services and geography.

Leadership and Management qualification.
