- Original valid passport and previous passport/s if applicable,

- Copy birth certificate (normal or unabridged)

- Two recent colour passport photograph. (Original)

- Original Completed INZ 1012 application form, (completed neatly in black ink, CAPITAL LETTERS, no correction fluid, in the applicant’s own handwriting!!!). Mistakes should be corrected neatly and initialed alongside the change.

- Original NZHC Personal Details Form. (There is a completed sample of this form available from OVC) This form requests personal, family and motivational information. Applicants should include as much detail as possible. Information must be accurate and correct. For reasons to return to South Africa, examples may include reasons like, “I want to run the family farm, I want to build a house on the family plot, I would like to start a business in SA, I would like to work for a SA company, or I wish to live close to my SA family.” This will vary depending on the applicant’s personal circumstances. Successful student visa applicants often have strong ties to their home country or have sincere, realistic reasons to return home, even though they may be eligible for a Graduate Work Permit on completion of their course.

Applicants will need to provide names, addresses and dates of birth for immediate family (brothers, sisters and parents, and spouses and own children if applicable). NB If any immediate family are living abroad it will be required to submit certified copies of their passports, birth certificates and visas or work permits for the countries in which they are living.

-Copy of Official Course Acceptance Offer document from ACG (email copy), which will specify: the name of the course and the start and completion dates of the course, as well as a letter of welcome from NZMA.

- Copy of Official Receipt of Fees from ACG (email copy) for full tuition fees or for the first year, as well as original proof of payment/bank transfer.

- Copy of Official Receipt of Fees from ACG (email copy) for homestay application (if applicable) as well as proof of payment/bank transfer. If homestay is not paid then nothing is needed to be submitted as NZMA guarantee accommodation assistance.

- Copy of Evidence of Funds for maintenance in New Zealand (NZ$ 15 000) as well as evidence of funds for a return airline ticket (approx R 10 000 to R15 000). This evidence should be in the form of an original (not internet printed) 6 month bank statement in the name of the applicant or that of a “sponsor” or financial undertaker (preferably a direct family member). The running balance should show that the bulk of the funds have been available for most of the 6 months (If funds have been recently deposited, proof of the source of these funds should be provided) Evidence of funds for a return ticket can be in a separate bank account or in the same account. It is important that the funds available must be visible after the payment of tuition fees to NZMA.

- Original Financial Undertaking Form INZ 1014, to be completed if the funds (above) are NOT in the applicant’s own bank account. The “sponsor” or financial undertaker must provide their 6 month’s original bank statements showing proof of funds or they may provide a declaration signed and

stamped by their bank on the 1014 form, to declare that the financial undertaker has sufficient funds. The “sponsor” should also provide evidence of their relationship to the applicant. This can be the applicant’s birth certificate if financial undertaker is a parent. The financial undertaker should also provide an employment letter or other evidence, to show that they are financially able to sponsor the student.

- Copy of Medical and Chest x-ray report, as completed and signed by a NZ panel doctor and radiologist. This must have been complete on form INZ 1007 and 1096 by the doctor and radiologist. (X-ray films need not be sent with the application if the report is clear of any abnormality or signs of TB). Medical and x-ray reports must be done at a designated New Zealand Panel Doctor or Radiologist. OVC consultants will supply contact details. (A copy of the applicant’s passport and three colour passport photos will be required for these appointments). Reports should not be older than 3 months.

- Letter of support from one or both parents is recommended for younger applicants. (A simple signed letter stating parents’ awareness of intentions to study and their full support of their son or daughter’s decision and an offer of additional financial support if needed)

- Full cv, letter of references from previous and current employers (references should state position, period worked and salary amount as well as anything positive regarding character and performance) i.e. qualification certificates, including matric certificate. Any other documentation that may relate to character, career and study history should also be submitted. Copies are permitted

-Copy of Proof of previous studies, submit copy of matric and any other certificates and diplomas. Add academic transcripts if available.

- A cover letter with a brief motivation of intentions to study in New Zealand stating a reason/s as to why the applicant has chosen to study a selected ACG/NZMA/NZCC/NZST course and also why the applicant has chosen to study in New Zealand. It is useful to have this cover letter checked with an OVC consultant. On this letter list all the documents provided in your application.

Applications take between 2 and 6 weeks and applicants will be notified when their visa has been processed and the documentation is ready for collection. Please note that all documentation provided in an application and all professional and character references will be thoroughly checked and verified for authenticity. Any false declarations or incorrect information may result in a visa being refused. In some instances a case officer will telephone or email an applicant to clarify aspects of the application or to request additional documentation or information.
