February News
We really appreciate all of the effort you put into the 100’s Day projects. We will return them in the coming weeks. As always if you have any questions or concerns please come in, call or send us a note.
· Valentine’s Day- We will celebrate on Tuesday, February 14th. We will need help on this day. We will exchange cards with each other. There are 26 students in Mrs. Haupert’s class and 24 in Mrs. Rowe’s class. Please have your child sign his/her name on each card. Do not have your child write the names of the other children on the cards. If you would like to send in a treat for the class please let us know.
· Jump for Heart- February 14. We have a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. We will learn how to jump rope. More details about the fundraiser to follow.
· Hope Canned Food Drive- We will collect food for H.O.P.E. for the entire month of February. Please send in what you can. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. The grade with the most cans earns a spirit stick so send in those cans.
· Homework- Please make sure to read the cover sheet of the weekly packet. Return any assignments that say “Finish/Return”. Sentence writing is the most important activity. Please help your child sound out the words. Avoid spelling out words unless they have a complex sound like, /sh/ or /oo/ or /th/. Your child will need to write at least 3 sentences independently by the end of the school year.
· Book Bags- Mrs. Haupert will send home book bags once a week on Fridays. Please read them and return the books in the bag on Thursday.
· Pajama Day- February 24 is pajama day. Wear some cute jammies to school. All children must wear shoes. No slippers please.
· No School Feb. 17 or Feb. 20 President’s Day and Lincoln’s Birthday
