  • Mill Bay has a Thrifty’s grocery store, Rusticana’s (an excellent coffee shop), and various fast food options for elite athletes. Bus parking is available: turn left before the gates. Change rooms are available at Brentwood for Arsenal fans; a bucket will be provided for Man Utd. supporters.

Tournament Rules

1) The Island championships consists of two pools of four teams. A round robin will be played in each pool, and the winners of each pool will play for first and second place; the second place teams in each pool will play for third and fourth place; the third place teams in each pool will play for fifth and sixth place; the fourth place teams in each pool will play for seventh and eighth place.

2) Keeper awards will be provided for the top three teams in tournament; the trophy goes to the winner for a year. Billy Keserich Jr. is in charge of officials. Please bring a cheque payable to “Brentwood College” for $200 to cover the cost of referees and referee’s assistants.

3) Round robin pool games will be two 30 minute halves with unlimited substitutions. Playoff games will be two 35 minute halves.

4) All games will start promptly at the scheduled times. Any team taking the field 30 minutes late will forfeit the game. Brooks starts late on the first day so they can halve their hotel costs.

4) Points for round robin pool games: Win = 3 points, Tie = 1 point, Loss = 0 points. No penalty kicks after a round robin game; penalties will only occur if they are needed for a tie-breaker (see Rule 6) after the completion of pool play or after playoff games.

5) Playoff games will have two 7.5 minute halves of extra-time with no golden goal. If the game remains tied after extra time, then a shootout will be implemented (under FIFA rules; coaches should remember that only players on the field at the end of extra-time may participate in the penalties).

6) If two or more teams are tied on points after all pool play is finished, the following criteria shall be used, in order, to determine the final standings:

a) head-to-head winner (not applicable in a three-or-four-way tie),

b) goal difference. A maximum of 5 goals shall be awarded in each game (for example, a 7-1 score will result in a 5 goal difference; a 7-3 score is a 4 goal difference),

c) fewest goals against,

d) penalty kicks between the tied teams. If three or four teams are tied, then penalty-kick round robins willtake place.

7) Misconduct: any player sent from the fieldby the referee will automatically be disqualified from taking part in the rest of the tournament.Any player receiving three yellow cards during the tournament must sit out the following game. Additional games may be given by the discipline committee (Billy Keserich, Wes Barrett, and Paul Collis).

8) Any protest must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Director (Paul Collis) directly following the game in question. After consultation with the referee, the Tournament Director will make any final decisions. If you have suggestions for improvements to future tournaments, or wish to arrange a coaches meeting, please email Paul Collis:
