§ Charles Dunn – Intern
The Charles Dunn Company is currently looking for an intern to work in the downtown Los Angeles property management department. Work schedule - minimum 8 hrs - maximum 20 hrs p/wk. Require set schedule, i.e., one full day (8hrs) or two (4 hr days), etc. Intern will prepare monthly reports for owners summarizing data and variances from the budget. Research and respond to various tenant, owner, and or vendor issues. Lease administration including maintenance of emergency information, insurance, and certificates, etc. Support portfolio manager with invoice coding. Abstract leases and set up tenant information. General administrative work as assigned. Possible property inspections w/senior manager. Special projects as assigned. Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong proficiency in WORD and EXCEL. Good communication skills - both written and verbal. E-mail resume to:
§ Mattel – Global Sustainability Intern
The Global Sustainability Intern will work within the Corporate Responsibility Organization on tasks and projects primarily focused on Environmental, Health and Safety. This position will support the collection; monitoring and management of EHS related information to effectively manage associated risk at the El Segundo Campus. Additionally, this position will entail the data management, research and benchmarking for the implementation of key Global Sustainability programs, initiatives and strategies. Intern will conduct EHS campus inspections including SPCC, storm water and VOC. Assist Senior Engineers in the management and marketing of the El Segundo Rideshare Program in accordance with AQMD Rule 2202. Investigate Lost Day Incidences and injuries and work collaboratively with Senior Engineers to identify root cause and appropriate corrective actions. Assist with Industrial Hygiene sampling. Research and benchmark corporate resource reduction goals and strategies to support the Global Sustainability Make-It imperative. Assist in the migration of historical Sustainable Performance Indicator Data to the Corporate Responsibility Information Management System. Develop a system for the maintenance of EHS documentation and training records in accordance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements. Develop a checklist for eye-wash stations monitoring. Assist in updating the El Segundo Emergency Response Plan and training. Applicants must be working towards a bachelors of Science (EHS, Chemistry, Biology) - currently enrolled in an undergraduate program from an accredited university. § The Los Angeles Kings – Bailey’s Buddies Sales Intern (2 Openings, $10/hr)
The Bailey’s Buddies Sales Intern will work under the supervision of the Game Entertainment Supervisor for the Los Angeles Kings. The Bailey’s Buddies Sales Intern will assist in the coordination and execution of all aspects of the Bailey’s Buddies program. Intern will be responsible for processing and fulfilling all Bailey’s Buddies online orders. In addition, the Bailey’s Buddies Sales Intern will be responsible for tracking all completed sales and maintaining the inventory database. During games and events, the Bailey’s Buddies Sales Intern will facilitate the sale of membership kits. Will work in conjunction with the Bailey’s Buddies Sales Manager to complete sales deposits after the conclusion of a game or event. § US-China Institute – US-China Today Magazine Editor ($12-13/hr)
The USC U.S. – China Institute is looking for a dynamic, self motivated and experienced graduate student editor (or junior/senior undergraduate) for one of its online magazines, US-China Today. USC students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. US-China Today is a student-driven publication of the USC U.S. – China Institute. Like the Institute, the magazine focuses on the multidimensional and evolving U.S.-China relationship and on significant trends in contemporary China. The magazine offers coverage of and commentary on a wide range of political, economic, social, and cultural issues. The Editor will be part of an editorial team responsible for editing the magazine’s content and maintaining the website. Applicants should have editorial/journalism experience, either from coursework or prior internships, knowledge of AP style, and the ability to edit. Interest in and knowledge of U.S.-China relations and contemporary Chinese studies is preferred. An interest in furthering a career in journalism is also preferred, as you will receive the opportunity to grow and develop in a mentoring environment. The Editor will work under the direct supervision of the U.S. – China Institute Associate Director and Program Manager. It is expected that the Editor exercise a high degree of independence, drawing upon a variety of resources available both within the University and elsewhere to obtain timely information and to resolve problems. Past journalistic/editorial experience a major plus. Interest in China and U.S.-China relations also helpful. § USC Human Resources – Graduate Recruiting Intern (2 Openings, $12/hr)
Under the direction of an HR Manager, the HR Graduate Intern will provide support in the areas of recruiting, on-boarding, file maintenance, performance management and special projects. This position will help drive the recruiting process including creating new job postings in PeopleAdmin, reviewing resumes, sourcing qualified candidates from job boards, corresponding with applicants, conducting phone screens and face-to-face interviews, creating interview schedules, and developing a candidate pool. Interns will participate in training sessions to develop essential recruiting skills, learn recruiting systems/software and become familiar with state and federal laws pertinent to recruitment. No previous Human Resources experience necessary. Must have previous office experience. Must be comfortable cold-calling job applicants on the phone. Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as the ability to learn the recruitment system is required. A desire to learn the fundamentals of recruiting is necessary. Must be highly organized, work in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and solid communication skills are a requirement. Business and Communications M.A.s are preferred. Duration of program: September 1st - December 3rd. Minimum Hours: 30-40 per week. Student Status: Must be a FULL-TIME GRADUATE STUDENT ( 4 units or more). Dress Code: Business Casual.
