Commodities Receiving and Load Out

Job Description:

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Communicates daily with Commodities Team before positioning railcars for pick-up
  • Communicates daily with Commodities Team to load dry product into railcars and trucks
  • Develops track reports (Car Count) reflecting the location and number of cars to be filled, and adjust schedules daily accommodate loading requirements
  • Organizes railcars in proper sequence, and positions for filling with wet and dry product, moving such by means of a the Track-Mobile
  • Will observe/assist customers while dumpinggrain
  • Position railcars filled with corn over the receiving pits and open the railcar gates
  • Couples and uncouples cars manually to arrange such in proper sequence
  • Inspects trucks, tanks and railcars to insure that such are sufficiently cleaned to insure safe transport of finished product
  • Operates and adjusts valves, pumps and filler pipes, transferring dry product from holding facilities to transportation equipment
  • Monitors processes carefully to insure safe transfer of product into transportation equipment
  • Obtains samples of products from filled trucks and railcars, and seals such following the completion of the loading process to insure correct content, quality and volume
  • Follows railcar inspection report procedures and initials such
  • Assists truck drivers in the loading of ethanol trucks, insuring that proper grounding procedures are followed
  • Unloads trucks of denaturant (gas), transferring such to the Siouxland Ethanol tank farm following standard safety and communication procedures
  • Maintains rails in the yard by moving snow, spilled product or similar obstructions, insuring the safe use of rails and track switches
  • Notify supervisor of the need to repair department equipment, and perform limited preventive maintenance duties on department equipment
  • Cleans department regularly, sweeping spilled product from floors and grounds, sweeping the walls of the DDG building to stay in compliance with OSHA dust regulations
  • Will safely operate the pay loader with level of proficiency for the purpose of loading Modified Distillers into trucks and pushing Dry Distillers into the Dry Building pit. The Skid Steer may also be used for the same tasks.
  • Will obtain a sample of MDG indicative of each truckload filled.
  • Will safely and efficiently operate the DDG load out system filling both trucks and railcars.
  • Have certainty of Certificate of Analysis prior to transferring product into transportation equipment.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety inspection on skid loader, pay loader, track mobile and ATV then sign inspection form.

Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:

Computer Experience helpful

  • Ability to manage confined space entry, climb staircase to the top of silos, climb ladders and lift 60 lbs required

Protective Clothing Required:

  • Gloves, hard hat, eye protection, steel toe shoes

Education/Work Experience:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in Load Out helpful
  • Experience running skid loader, track mobile, payloader helpful
