Community Access Membership Scheme

Membership Application Pack

1 April 2017 - 31 March 2018

Kew Gardens Community Access Membership Scheme (CAMS) is a GROUP annual membership scheme that provides access to Kew Gardens for people who face physical, sensory, psychological or social barriers to visiting the Gardens independently. (For opportunities for individuals who are NOT part of a group please see our Community & Access Programmes webpage).

Who can join?

Eligible groups may include for example organisations who support older people, people with learning or physical disabilities, people experiencing mental health issues, people living with dementia, or organisations supporting excluded, vulnerable or isolated members of society.

What are the criteria?

To be eligible your organisation must be based within the M25 and be:

·  a registered charity or

·  a community interest company (CIC) or

·  a community benefit society or

·  an organisation that provides services directly to people who face physical, sensory, psychological or social barriers to visiting Kew Gardens.

Membership tiers and fees

We offer two types of membership:

·  Tier 1: up to 60 free admissions each year for £30 (incl. VAT)

·  Tier 2: up to 120 free admissions for £60 (incl. VAT)

·  You can top up from 60 to 120 visits during the year if you find you’d like more.

The membership year runs from 1 April to 31 March and applications can be made at any time. The visit quota (60/120 visits) can be used at any time within the membership year and therefore the membership fee does NOT reduce pro rata.

About the scheme

·  Groups can visit more than once during normal opening hours until they reach a maximum of 60/120 visitor admissions each year.

·  There is no need to book to visit the gardens.

·  Larger organisations such as national bodies are offered 60/120 visitor admissions per branch each year, with a separate registration required for each branch.

·  Children aged under four years and essential carers accompanying people with disabilities are admitted free of charge and this does not count towards your 60/120 visitor admissions.

·  You cannot carry over unused visits to the next membership year.

Exclusions

·  The scheme is for the service users and their accompanying carers or support workers only. It is NOT for staff or volunteers, unless accompanying their users.

·  Tickets are NOT intended to be used as a ‘thank you’ for volunteers, nor for fundraising by way of you charging your visitors for their entry.

·  Entry is NOT included for any ticketed events within the Gardens (e.g. Christmas at Kew).

How do I join?

·  Complete the attached application form and send it to us (details are on the form).

·  Please include all the information required in your application.

If you require further information about the scheme, please
