More information about the underpinning of the Employment Strategic Group (Cross Care) can be found in Chapter 5 - ‘Helping adults with autism into work’ within Rewarding and Fulfilling Lives (DH, 2010) and pages 20-22 of The First Year Delivery Plan for Adults with Autism (DH, 2010). The Government’s statements and directives for local actions also correspond to all care groups i.e. mental health, learning disability, physical disability. The following documents also underpin the Strategic employment Group (Cross Care) - Independent Living Strategy (2009); Valuing People Now: a new three-year strategy for people with learning disabilities (DH, 2009); Valuing People Now: real jobs for people with learning disabilities (DWP, 2009); New Horizons: a shared vision for mental health (DH, 2009); Work Choice (DWP, 2009). In addition, please see Ordinary People Leading Ordinary Lives: Learning disability strategy for Hampshire (HCC, 2010) and Joint Hampshire Mental Health Commissioning Strategy: Building mental health and wellbeing – Consultation document (HCC and NHS Hampshire, 2010). The focus of Workstream 3 is to support people across all care groups to gain meaningful employment.
