6/1998 to 6/2001

Texas Instruments, Dallas, TX

Areas:SD, Basis

System:R/3 4.0B

Design, development and implementation of Internet applications. In part at SAP Labs in Palo Alto during the prototype development of SAP’s web enabled sales document transaction.

Developing guidelines for custom development and modifications/enhancements;

Responsible for web development team during first implementation (August 1999) and for redesign (go live March 2001). All web applications are based on custom developed dialog transactions implemented in an R/3 system. SAP’s Internet Transaction Server (ITS) is used as gateway between HTTP server and the R/3 system.

Development of the following IACs (Internet Application Components):

-Sales Document processing (over 2000 executions per day worldwide).
The user can create / create with reference / change / display different kind of sales document types in two dialog steps (in special cases additional dialog steps are required). A search functionality for all sorts of document attributes and an individual “myDocuments” functionality completed this application

-Order Backlog processing
The user can investigate the order status down to the carrier tracking info

-Web enabled EDI / IDOC Error Correction
The user can correct some of the typical EDI errors encountered in the recipient system (Texas Instruments). Typical errors are incorrect material identification or quantities not matching minimum quantities/values

-Material Availability check

-Material Master Record Request System
Intranet based system for engineers (without SAP access or knowledge) to request and create (after approval via IDOCs) a material master record in SAP

-Several web reports

All applications mentioned above – except some of the web reports – are custom developed dialog programs specially designed to work with the ITS.

7/1998 to 4/1999
(part time)

BBraun / McGaw, Irvine, CA

Areas:SD, Basis

System:R/3 3.1h

Design and development of a custom contract application. Based on special needs for this pharmaceutical company a dialog program to create/change/display contracts with special pricing agreements was needed (standard SAP contracts did not satisfy their needs). Those contracts were later taken into account during the (standard SAP) order creation. Juergen developed this dialog program and integrated it into SAP’s standard order processing. Customer exits in SAP standard pricing routines were utilized to copy over the prices/conditions of those custom contracts.
