Minutes from October 18, 2016 PTO meeting

In attendance: Mr. Filkosky, Brenda Carles, Terri Johnson, Amber Lewis, Lianna Salisbury, Kaleen Wolfe, Nikki Hemminger, various parents

1.  Approve minutes from September 20 meeting

2.  Treasurer’s report-Terri

·  Fall fundraiser made about $13,500 this year, up from about $12,000 last year, no dates for limo lunch or BMX show yet

·  Kindergarten and 3rd grade field trips paid for

·  Fall assembly-paid for from McTeacher night at McDonald’s

·  We made about $10,000 from passive fundraising-holiday shop, Martin’s, box tops, etc.

3.  Old business

·  Spirit wear-made $476, was delivered the week of homecoming

·  Martin’s/Giant Eagle rewards-in process

·  Boscov’s fundraiser-no totals yet

·  Homecoming-48 students on float

4.  New business

·  Community nights

Hoss’s is Nov. 6, a flyer will go out

·  Fall Fundraiser-delivery will be November 4, need help sorting from 1-3 that day

·  Playground update-met once with Dr. Gildea

A letter went out to Phil Smith, survey to be done, Mrs. Smith to maybe get student council involved, applied for a $10,000 grant

·  Bus driver appreciation-$5 gift cards

·  Box tops-today is the last day for contest, must be postmarked by Nov. 1

·  Chrome books-Justin Arthur, IT person

·  Fuel up to Play 60-meet with Mrs. Vent once a week, formed teams

·  Halloween parties-Oct. 27, parade at 2:00 and class parties afterward

·  Sign up website-can be used by homeroom parents for parties, etc.

·  Clearances update-get the list out by Jan. 1

·  President’s council

School board meeting is Oct. 19 at 7:00

Substitutes needed-schools aren’t able to get subs 6% of the time; a 2-day training will be done for them

·  Tiger stripe event-this week, extra recess

·  Father/Daughter dance-Feb. 10 from 6-8 in the gym; DJ is reserved; need volunteers to help; Everyday Party is going out of business and may have good deals on decorations
