Principal components of the Medical Assistant Program include general medical knowledge and skills, communication skills, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and skills specifically related to the profession, both administrative and clinical.

The program provides skills for employment in a physician’s office or clinic, including front and back office duties. It prepares students to sit for the Registered Medical Assistant Exam.

Local employers include hospital clinics, medical clinics and offices, outpatient clinics and specialty medical offices such as cardiology, dermatology, orthopedics and surgery.

Class Hours:Full time: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Cost of Program:*Tuition $4462 plus textbooks approximately $550

*Prices reflect in-state tuition. Student must show proof of I year Colorado residency to qualify. Costs cited are for blocks started during the 2013-14 school year only. Out-of-state tuition is an additional $100 per credit.

Reading and Math courses may be required prior to entrance to the Medical Assistant Program.

Medical Assistant Program is a Pell Grant or FAFSA eligible program.

EmilyGriffithTechnicalCollege does not participateinany student loan program.

The Pell Grant is the only federal financial aid (FAFSA) offered at Emily Griffith.

  • Colorado Student Grant (CSG): CSG is available on a first come basis. Funds are limited.
  • Other GrantsCertain programs may be funded through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Goodwill, United Way and other community organizations. Check with your local county workforce center for more information
  • Scholarships: Access EGTC website for more information and applications.
  • Payment Plans: Individual payment plans may be arranged in person in the Treasurer’s Office for a fee of $20. Payments are paid monthly for 5 months.

Transfer credits:

Up to 42 program credits may transfer to any ColoradoCommunity College towards an Associate of Science in Applied Technology.
