Student and Classroom Expectations:

  1. Be Here, attendance is important. In an event of an unplanned absence you will have two days for every day of excused absence to make up the work. After that it will be considered late. If you are unexcused absent you will not receive credit for any coursework due or completed at the time of your absence. YOU are also responsible for getting makeup work that you may have missed during your absence. Use the course website and look in file folders for worksheets.
  1. Be On Time, this means in your seat, materials out and ready to work at the beginning of class.
  1. Be Prepared, bring all materials to class each day(text, composition book, planner, pen/pencil). If you need to leave class repeatedly to collect materials, you will receive a tardy unexcused. In addition, class room temperature tends to fluctuate so please dress appropriately.
  1. Be Attentive, listen and follow directions the first time. SAFETY is always important, especially in a science classroom. HORSEPLAY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED
  1. Be Respectful, 3 Rs for a safe and fun classroom: Respect Yourself, Respect Others, Respect Your Environment
  1. PLEASE do not have your cell phone on or out in class. I will follow student handbook(pg. 36)guidelines for the use of cell phones in the classroom.
  1. Clean up your area. At the end of a lab this will include cleaning the lab equipment, properly disposing or putting away the specimens, and wiping off the tables; includes snacks or general class activities. If you are not sure how to clean or dispose of materials please ask.
  1. Substitute teacher policy: The rule is simple-the substitute teacher is in charge and has the final say. You are to follow their instructions, even if it varies from the normal routine. If your name is written down for ANYnegative reason, a detention will be assigned.
  1. Assignments are due at the beginning of class of the due date; please place them in the correct basket labeled for your class. Any assignments turned in after assigned due date will receive half credit of the final score; late material must be turned in the next class period in order to receive any points otherwise student will receive a zero for the assignment.
  1. CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! Loaning (sharing) or copying(plagiarizing) your work is cheating. Everyone involved in cheating will receive a zero for the assignment.
  1. I reserve the right to alter these policies to meet changes in the school policy or our classroom.
