Being God’s People in God’s world – living the Sacrificial Life –

Committing anew to faithful Stewardship

Eternal God,

we proclaim with joy that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church;

his life and death give meaning and purpose to our lives.

Give your strength to this Church and to us as we serve it:

may the teaching of Jesus be our guide;

may the compassion of Jesus show us the meaning of love;

may the sensitivity of Jesus help create our relationships;

may the healing of Jesus ease our tensions;

may the suffering of Jesus bring reconciliation in division;

may the death of Jesus remind us of the cost of true discipleship;

and may the Resurrection of Jesus give us undying hope.

Amen

CALL TO WORSHIP

HYMN OF PRAISE– No. 1 – #59- O for a thousand tongues to sing

O for a thousand tongues to sing. 4. He speaks, and, listening to His voice,
My great Redeemer’s praise, New life the dead receive,
The glories of my God and King, The mournful, broken hearts rejoice,
The triumphs of His grace! The humble poor believe.

2.Jesus! the name that charms our fears 5.Hear Him, you deaf; His praise, ye dumb
That bids our sorrows cease; Your loosened tongues employ;
’it’s music in the sinner’s ears, You blind, behold your Savior come
’it’s life, and health, and peace. And leap, you lame, for joy.

3. He breaks the power of canceled sin, 6. My gracious Master and my God,
He sets the prisoner free; Assist me to proclaim,
His blood can make the foulest clean, To spread through all the earth abroad
His blood availed for me. The honors of your name.

PRAYER OF ADORATION & THANKSGIVING

RESPONSIVE READING: No. 658 [Psalm 19]

Leader:The heavens declare the glory of God;

People:the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Leader:Day after day they pour forth speech;

People:night after night they display knowledge.

Leader:There is no speech or language where theirvoice is not heard.

People:Their voice goes out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world.

Leader:In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,

which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion,

People:like a champion rejoicing to run his course.

Leader:It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other;

People:nothing is hidden from its heat.

Leader:The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.

People:The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

Leader:The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.

People:The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

Leader:The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring for ever.

People:The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous.

Leader:They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold.

People:they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.

Leader:By them is your servant warned;

in keeping them there is great reward.

People:Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults.

Leader:Keep your servant also from willful sins;may they not rule over me.

Then will I be blameless,innocent of great transgression.

ALL:May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

We will glorify the Lord of lords, for He is the great I AM.

Lord Jehovah reigns in majesty, we will bow before His throne;

Hallelujah to the King of kings, hallelujah to the Lamb;

He is Lord of heaven, Lord of earth, He is Lord of all who live;

He is Lord above the universe, all praise to Him we give..

C. Bless Thy Word unto our heartsand glorify Thy Name.
Bless Thy Word unto our hearts, and glorify Thy Name.
Glorify Thy Name, Lord,glorify Thy Name.
Bless Thy Word unto our hearts, and glorify Thy Name

[Brief Period of Silence]

[Sung Prayerfully]

We need to hear from You; we need a Word from You

If we don’t hear from You, what will we do.

Wanting You more each day, to show us your perfect way

There is no other way that we can live.
