A survey was sent to all GASFAA members on July 24, 2014 requesting feedback on training preferences. We received 41 responses. Some of the highlights are below.

·  34.1% have never attended a professional development workshop.

·  Lack of funding and date/time schedule conflicts were the two main reasons for not attending more workshops.

·  Fourteen indicated they would consider participating in training to prepare them as a GASFAA Presenter.

The GASFAA Professional Development Committee held the first meeting on August 6, 2014 at Clayton State University. Several additional meetings were held by phone and email as needed to prepare for the Fall workshop. Discussion focused mainly on the October training location, format, and topics. We also discussed the possibility of filming the presentations so they could be archived on the website for review by the membership. David Bartnicki confirmed that the federal presentations can be filmed. Cost is minimal since some space is available and included in the current amount paid to ATAC.

The GASFAA 2014 Fall Workshop registration opened on Wednesday, October 8th and closed at noon on Thursday, October 24, 2014. At the time it closed, there were 178 registered for the workshop with interest in the breakout sessions as indicated: Panel Discussion – 60, Banner – 100, PowerFaids – 18. Since then, five individuals have been added bringing the total registered to 183. Maximum seating in the ballroom is 200, so we are very close to capacity. Interest in Banner has now exceeded available seating.
