About the course:
This course will cover the following issues:
  1. “This updated Guide to Professional Conduct is a publication that is essential to every solicitor’s practice and its contents should of course be closely studied. The standards set out in this Guide are those that all solicitors are expected to achieve and adopt in practice as minimum requirements of professional conduct. This is what the public expects. And, similar to the application of laws, the spirit of the Guide is just as important as its letter. Course objective:
This series of professional ethics courses aim to equip legal practitioners with the most important information on professional conduct. Relevant cases, rules, practice directions and guidelines will be cited and quoted to illustrate the essential issues.
About the presenter:
AB Nasir, Solicitor, Nasirs®
Mr. Amirali B. Nasir is a solicitor admitted in Hong Kong, England and Wales, practising under the name and style of NASIRS® (formerly AB Nasir & Co.®) since 1992. His principal areas of practice are dispute resolution and commercial law. He is a Council member of the Law Society of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Standards and Development, Member of the Law Society’s Guidance Committee, Chairman of Guide Working Party, member of the Ethics Committee of the HKICPA, contributor to the Hong Kong Civil Procedure (White Book) and correspondent reporter for Hong Kong for Islamic Finance News. He is a regular speaker on risk management, civil procedure, ethics, solicitors’ accounts, mediation and Islamic finance. As a hobby, he is an accredited trainer in NLP and hypnosis. Formerly external examiner for the Corporate and Commercial Transactions course on the PCLL Programme at the University of Hong Kong, the Accounts Course for the PCLL Programme at CityUniversity and past member on the Panel of the Notaries Public Disciplinary Tribunal.

  1. The course is open to all solicitors and trainee solicitors. Enrolments will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis, with priority given to those who are subject to the CPD and RME obligations.
  2. If you cannot attend a booked course which is free of charge, written notification must be received by the Hong Kong Academy of Law at least one clear working day before the date of the booked course. Otherwise, you may not be given priority when you register to attend the Academy future free courses.
  3. Only those who have been allocated a seat will receive a confirmation letter from the Academy. Those who have not received a confirmation letter from the Academy before the date of the course shall treat their registrations for the free course unsuccessful.
