PREPARING TOMORROW’S LEADERS IN SCIENCE APPLICATION

APPLICATIONS DUE MAY 15.

Note: Applications are primarily forPhD students and post docs inbioinformatics, biochemistry, bioengineering, computer science, food sciences, mathematics, social sciences or plant sciences (or who have a faculty advisor in IPG); Master’s Degree in Strategic Communication;or those in other fields by direct invitation. Exceptional Master’s students in the STEM areas identified above are welcome to apply as well. Preference is given for those who have at least one year of coursework completed by 9/1/18.

To be considered for the program, please do the following:

Resume or CV (work experience and education)

Signed commitment sheet (page 3 of this document)

A memo written in business style (maximum of 2-3 single spaced pages, bullets can be used if done appropriately, crisp and concise writing – make your words count) which addresses ALL of the following:

  • Your current career aspirations (what you want to do and in what type of organization)
  • Why you are choosing this career path
  • Why you want to be a part of PTLS
  • Why you think the development of non-technical skills is important
  • What are your strengths and what non-technical skills would you like to develop in this program
  • How and what you can contribute to the class (why will your being there make it better for all involved)
  1. Have your advisor email tating
  2. Why he or she thinks you should be a part of PTLS
  3. His or her support for your involvement for both semesters.
