Quality of Life Task Force Meeting Minutes May 12, 2016

  1. Meeting Minutes from April 14, 2016 meeting were approved
  1. City Wide Clean-up Day
  1. Jill’s Notes from Clean-up Day 2016 were reviewed, updated and will be turned into the city
  2. Clean-up Day will continue to be scheduled to coincide with Earth Day
  3. Donated vests, bags and gloves were returned to the city for future use
  1. Arts in the Park
  1. Val will pick up payment vouchers (for musicians) from the city
  2. Musicians scheduled and the following committee members will call rain cancellations, introduce and pay the musician

  11. Event cancellation will occur by 4pm on the day of the event
  12. The scheduled musician will receive $100 for a cancellation
  13. Jill will place event cancellation sign/board in Train Park
  14. Advertisements were sent to Karry for review. These have been approved and will start running in the May 22 edition of the Courier
  15. Flyers – Karry will design and print 8.5 x 11 flyers for committee members to distribute around town. Committee members to pick up flyers and distribute around town
  1. Vendors will need to check with the city to see if a permit is required.
  • Keri to follow-up with Abraham’s Table Farm
  1. Electrical power – Keri to call the city to have power turned on/off every Wednesday. Keri to contact Jessica Seibert or Alana Tyson
  2. Picnic tables – Keri to call Jessica Seibert or Alana Tyson to have these delivered to Train Park prior to June 1st
  3. Porta potty – Steve secured delivery
  1. Neighborhood Night Out
  2. Val will check with previous hosts as to whether they want to continue the same process as 2015 or combine in Train Park
  3. If the committee decides to hold the event in Train Park, they would consider paying the American Legion to cook for the event
  4. Hold event at Train Park in addition to individual hosts
  1. Kettle River Watershed Mural Project
  2. Essentia and ECRAC declined funding for the mural
  3. Danette working on securing funding and location for panels as opposed to a mural
  1. New Committee Members
  2. Continue to solicit additional committee members.
