Tentative Schedule
Week 1
Aug 26 Introduction: Review of syllabus, tentative class schedule, text books, Student Information Sheet, Texas DPRS orientation, review of the CDL Student Handbook.
Assignment:Review CDL Student Handbook and print the Nutrition information from State Minimum Standards website. Bring both to class next Wednesday.
Complete one hour of observation and fill out the Assignment One Initial Observation Worksheet sometime during week one and two ( due Wednesday of week 2 by 5:30 p.m) Check items, sign your name, and turn in to Davis file tray in CDL.
There are three areas of assigned reading: the text; the course web page, and materials provided in class. Read all materials provided and assigned to you every week throughout the semester. Check the course web page as directed in class, and at least weekly, for topics under discussion. Read the student handbook carefully, particularly those sections pointed out in class.Text assignments: these should be read no later than the time they are scheduled to be discussed in class;besure to stay current.Course web page: read all information under Orientation this week, and stay current.Materials provided in classinclude those provided by the instructor and other students.

Visit the Child Development Laboratory at your convenience, and fill out the observation form you were given (also available on-line). Use the CDL Resources and Materials form and make sure you know where all items are located. Check items, sign your name, and turn in using the Davis file tray in the CDL.
