Teacher: ___Whitney Bass______

Course: _____Geometry______Block(s): ____1st ______

Monday: (January 30th)

COS: Prepares for G.CO.9 Prove theorems about lines and angles, G.CO.10 Prove theorems about triangles, and G.CO.11 Prove theorems about parallelograms.

Daily Objective: Students will use geometric terms to answer questions and find the measure of angles and segments with given information. (ACT REVIEW)

BELL RINGER: [Good Things]

Students will write down 3 or more complete sentences of good things that happened to them lately.

BEFORE/ENGAGE: [Video]

Students will watch the Legally Blonde video clip of logical steps.

DURING/EXPLAIN: [Jot Notes]

Students will complete an algebraic proof using logical steps.

AFTER/EVALUATE: [Proof Activity]

Students will work in groups to arrange statements and reasons forming different proofs.

Tuesday: (January 31st)

COS: G.CO.9 Prove theorems about lines and angles.

Daily Objective: Students will prove theorems about lines and angles.

BELL RINGER: [Taboo]

Students will play a round of taboo to start the day off.

BEFORE/ENGAGE: [Foldable]

Students will create and complete a foldable to help them identify reasons for proofs.

DURING/EXPLAIN: [Jot Notes]

Students will prove theorems about lines and angles.

AFTER/EVALUATE: [Proof Activity]

Students will work with a partner to complete a proof.

Wednesday: (February 1st)

COS: G.CO.9 Prove theorems about lines and angles.

Daily Objective: Students recognize conditional statements and their parts.

BELL RINGER: [Witzzle]

Students will play Wittzle to start off the day.

BEFORE/ENGAGE: [Partner Up]

Students will work with a partner to complete proofs.

DURING/EXPLAIN: [Round Robin Proofs]

Students will work with a partner to complete different proofs as the problems rotate around the room. (Have a set of 4-6 proofs to rotate between groups to allow more time for each proof.)

AFTER/EVALUATE: [Review]

Students will check their proofs.

Thursday: (February 2nd)

COS: G.CO.9 Prove theorems about lines and angles.

Daily Objective: Students will recognize conditional statements and write their converse, inverse, and contrapositives and prove theorems about lines and angles.

BELL RINGER: [Train Game]

Students will play the train game to start the day off.

BEFORE/ENGAGE: [Divide and Conquer]

Students will split into pairs to prepare for carousel of problems.

DURING/EXPLAIN: [Carousel of Problems]

Students will work with a partner to solve problems that have been posted around the room on conditional statements and proofs.

AFTER/EVALUATE: [Review]

Students will review the answers for the carousel of problems.

Friday: (February 3rd)

COS: G.CO.9 Prove theorems about lines and angles.

Daily Objective: Students prove statements about angles and segments.

BELL RINGER: [Figure It Out]

Students will be given a brainteaser to figure out.

BEFORE/ENGAGE: [Q&A]

Students will ask any questions they may have concerning proofs.

DURING/EXPLAIN: [Assessment]

Students will take a test on conditional statements, their parts, and proofs.

AFTER/EVALUATE: [Read]

Students will read while others finish their tests.
