Men’s Game of the Week – Elders vs. Ninja (Elite League)

The resurgent Elders took on the seemingly unstoppable Ninja in a great Elite League game. The Ninja were up for most of the game and were ahead by nine with ten minutes to go. However, the Elders slowly clawed their way back into the game (vintage Elders of 4 championships in a row!) and forced overtime when Brian Styers hit a running underhand shot at the buzzer (vintage Styers!). The Elders took control in the overtime period and pulled away for the 52 to 44 victory. Superstar Kyle Rice who is back from surgery, had 21 for the Elders, while Styers and Smith each had 10. Could this be the return of the venerable Elders who were unstoppable for the first 4 Legends seasons? Perhaps! For the Ninja, Hay continued his strong start with 20 and Jones had 11.

Ladies Game of the Week – Wolves vs. Angels

The Angels suffered their second straight close loss, falling to the defending champs 63 to 51. The balanced scoring of the Wolves was too much for the Angels as India Thomas had 18, Carrico had 11 and Conboy added 9. The Angels were led by Huley’s 26 and Barkalow’s 11.

Legend of the Week – Phil Caldwell (Thangs)

In a stunning offensive outburst, Phil Caldwell dominated the game between the Thangs and the Khanmen. Caldwell hit shots from all over the court including several clutch free throws and finished with a team high 19 points. All of Caldwell’s 19 points were needed as the Thangs barely defeated the Khanmen 46 to 42.

Phil leads the charge!
