4 / Wiltshire Locality updates from service users, carers and staff
  • LR informed the group of World Mental Health Day and the WSUN event that would be taking placein the Corn Exchange, Devizes
  • TN noted the vast changes within MH teams that were affecting service users. DC agreed. There had been a flurry of people wanting advocacy around issues caused by the changes
  • DR mentioned there was nowhere to ring when between primary and secondary care. Transition period was very fragmentised during this time
  • LR would like to see Miriam Turner, CCG, invited to speak at one of the 2016 meetings to talk about the MH Strategy
  • To add to that , hearing from Julie Warner as Operational Manager would also be good, to speak with Carol Bowes, Head of Quality and Toby Sutcliffe, Clinical Director
  • Working more closely with other MH related organisations. TB invited more organisations to this meeting but apologies were sent
  • TL – if possible could we hear from Dan Meron, Consultant Psychiatrist/Deputy Medical Director. TB would see if this was a possibility
  • DK/DR asked if Iain Tulley, CEO could be invited to a meeting as well
  • Some improvement in 136 suites décor. Large pieces of art have transformed the Fountain Way suite, with a view to using art within other areas of the site and also at Imber Ward, Green Lane Hospital

5. / Action Point Register updates

6. / 15 Steps – 2 years on
LC and TL both spoke about the process of 15 steps, their roles within the team and the good work that has come out of the assessments held so far. The ‘on the day’ feedback had had a very positive impact with staff and managers, capturing a snapshot of life on a ward and staff interaction on a particular day. Simple amendments made to working practices had benefitted all. • LC to attend afuturerWCF meeting to look at Care Quality Commission, what is/is not compliant in Wiltshire locality.
7. / Any Other Business
Speakers! TB to look towards 2016 and request speakers to attend future meetings. Much is gained by the group, acquiring specific knowledge of the Wiltshire locality and services.
