Title: Loan Processor

FLSA: Exempt

Reports To:Operations Manager

PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position will perform loan processing for residential mortgage loans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Responsible for mortgage loan processing which includes:

  • Prepares and processes mortgage loan received from Client within the established service level agreements.
  • Orders third party services including, but no limited to, appraisal, flood certificate, verifications of income and employment and credit updates.
  • Verifies accuracy and completeness of all mortgage documentation received, including, but not limited to, credit documents, income, appraisals, title, flood certificates etc.
  • Inputs and updates data within Client’s Loan Origination System to prepare accurate loan closing documents, and arrange for funding needed at loan closing.
  • Prepares and submits loans for initial approval to Underwriting while complying with strict government lending regulations.
  • Collects, submits and clear any underwriting and post-closing conditions.
  • Prioritizes and manages a pipeline of loans to adhere to specified turn-times and follow-up requirements.
  • Communicates effectively with client and/or customer, independently resolves any conflicts that may arise, when needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1+year of experience in residential mortgage processing.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Basic Microsoft Office and a loan origination system.

No specific certificates, licenses and registrations required for this job.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Sound understanding of the entire mortgage loan origination process

Has sound knowledge of the newly implemented TRID guidelines.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Customer service focus with the ability to actively listen, elicit information, comprehend issues/needs, and recommend solutions

Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with co-workers, customers, clients and vendors

Ability to work independently

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills to meet deadlines

Ability to make independent judgement calls based on regulatory knowledge
