About us

Evolve offer dynamic and innovative support for young people with learning disabilities and autism from the age of 16. We are part of Options, a leading care and support organisation operating throughout Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset.

We work closely with schools and colleges in order to provide a smooth transition process for young people leaving education.

Our programme runs from our central meeting hub and training base- The Barton Hill Settlement, Bristol.

Young people can access Evolve through Social Care funding, Personal Budgets, Direct Payments, or private funding.

What we do

Evolve offer a group based weekday programmewhich includes a variety of skills based, sporting, social and artistic opportunities. Our programme is specifically designed for young people from the age of 16 and offers a vibrant and age appropriate social environment.

Evolve also has a view in future to offer overnight stays at a skills development house in Bristol. This could be accessed by people who are looking to move into a supported living environment in the future, or as a more modern and person focused form of respite.

Following this Evolve could then provide support and guidance with the transition into supported living and with the design, planning and delivery of personalised support packages to meet individual needs and requirements.

Evolve offer a wide variety of sporting opportunities and actively encourage a healthy lifestyle. We work with other local organisations to provide an opportunity for people to engage in a number of different sports. We fully utilise local facilities and promote inclusion.

We encourage people to try new activities and develop new interests with the aim of increasing levels of personal fitness and self-confidence.

Regular activities include: football, gym sessions, trampolining, dance, climbing, golf, swimming, racquet sports, local walks, outdoor pursuits.

Social Inclusion

Our weekday programme includes a range of community based activities which aim to increase levels of inclusion and participation within the local community.

We encourage the use of public transport and incorporate travel training into a number of our sessions with the aim of increasing knowledge of the local area and building confidence when out in the community.

We engage with other local organisations to provide inclusion opportunities and introduce young people to a variety of local resources.

Outside of the weekday programme, we also promote and facilitate “shared enabling” opportunities, designed to increase social opportunities and match peoples interests.

Art and Enterprise

Our meeting hub facilitates a variety of art and enterprise opportunities for people wishing to develop their artistic and creative skills.

Art sessions can provide enterprise opportunities for those wishing to create bespoke art work, or act as a more therapeutic and relaxed activity in which people can develop new interests.

We offer a wide variety of activities that appeal to young people including Street Art sessions, as well as more traditional activities such as painting and textiles.

Progressive Living

Evolve has a view in future to also offer overnight stays and independent living training through an identified “Progressive Living” training house in Bristol. The aim of Progressive Living is to provide a more modern and training based focus, as opposed to more traditional “Respite” services.

Stays at the training house could provide family and carers witha “respite” break, but support would be geared towards the young person developing a range of skills during their stay to help prepare them for the future.

Stayscould also be available on a flexible basis, and focused training and support could be provided for people looking to move into a supported living environment in the future.

Supported Living

With the development of our “Progressive Living” service within Evolve, this could provide support with the transition into the Supported Livingenvironment and work in partnership with Options Supported Living and Enabling teams to create an effective transition plan.

Options have over 10 years’ experience supporting people to live in the homes and communities of their choosing, and offer flexible, person centred support. We offer support from 6 hours a week to 24/7 bespoke packages for people with a range of needs and requirements.
