WARD TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING - Minutes

September 17th, 2013

The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Town of Ward was called to order at 8:00 p.m. on September 17th, 2013.

Present:

Vic Carlson Chairman Dale Gimbel Treasurer

David Asmus Supervisor

Lyle Winter Supervisor Lynda Converse Clerk

Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes of August 17th, 2013 were read. Motion to approve was made by Lyle Winter and second by David Asmus.

Treasurer’s Report showed a checking account balance of $35,629.24. Savings Account Balance is $125,564.59 including the “Disparity Reduction Aid” payment of $2812.00. Motion was made by D. Asmus seconded by L. Winter to approve the Treasurer’s report. Motion approved. Motion by L. Winter seconded by D. Asmus to approve the payment of March claims # 3403- # 3406 Motion carried.

Correspondence was duly processed. No one is planning to attend the Fall Maintenance Expo; Supervisors will plan to attend the Ditch 8 Meeting Monday Sept. 23rd at 7:00 PM; filed the letter regarding biosolids on John Barber property/Long Prairie Packing Co.

Report: D Asmus updated on Cemetery fence project which is completed and in accordance with right of way guidelines. Lyle asked if the estimate including painting. Discussion; Dave will check.

Old Business:

·  Robert Tyrrell: Lynda/Clerk will get estimates on liability insurance for Robert as placing him on Statema’s liability insurance was cost prohibitive. Statema suggested we contact insurance company directly for quotes as it would be much less expensive.

·  Motion was made by David Asmus with second by Lyle Winter to approve a “resolution adopting the Minnesota Townships General Records Retention Schedule”. Motion approved. Clerk will submit Notification to MN Historical Society.

·  Charlie Hagen correspondence regarding eradication of Common Tansy was placed on full for reference in the spring of 2014.

New Business/Other Business: D. Gimbel submitted a request he received via GIS for a sign movement request from Kurt Kruse. Supervisors L Winter and D Asmus will follow-up. Lyle mentioned repairing bad spot in tar in township and asked if it was too late to fix them this year. Discussion – supervisors will do inspection and determine action needed and timeline. V Carlson noted the culvert on 340th is plugged. He will further inspect and clean it out.

Being no further business to be conducted at this meeting on Motion by D. Asmus seconded by L. Winter meeting was adjourned at 9:55 p.m.
