St. George Summer Camp 2013
Parent Packet
““You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world.”
(Matthew 5:13-16)
Dear Parents,
Another summer has arrived and we would like to welcome you and your kids to this year’s summer camp. A lot of time and effort has been placed to ensure that your kids really benefit from this year’s camp. Enclosed, along with this letter, is a list of the rules and policies we will be enforcing, a day to day schedule, contact information and information concerning the curriculum that we will be using.
Just a reminder, we will meet every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays will consist of a liturgy that will begin at 10am. We ask that you bring your children to the Liturgy since one of our main focuses of the summer is how to conduct ourselves in church.
Pick up will be at 6pm. Please be sure to pick up your kids by 6pm, since the servants have families and responsibilities to attend to.
Every Thursday we will have either a field trip or a service project. If you have any questions or problems concerning the cost of the trips or fees pertaining to the camp, feel free to contact Abouna Moussa Saleh. We also ask that children wear the camp shirt that will be provided for them the first week of the camp every Thursday.
If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact Sara Badrous at 813-504-0006 or Nardin Badrous at 813-504-0003.
Thank you so much for your help and support.
Take care and God Bless

Point System
This summer everything will work off of a point system. For everything that each child does they will earn a certain number of points. A certain number of points will be necessary to be able to attend field trips and other activities. Just because the student attends a session does not mean they will earn the total number of points. Points will be awarded due to participation and involvement in their sessions.
Points Per Session / Total Points Per Week / How to earn the pointsChristian Behavior / 125 / You Must maintain a Christian, positive attitude throughout the week.
Liturgy / 50 / 100 / You must come to at least one Liturgy per week.
Sessions / 25 / 100 / You must attend sessions, participate & respect one another.
Participating in Activities
(Play or Choir) / 25 / 50 / You must participate in one of the activities. (No excuses)
Participating in Free Time
(Sports or Arts & Crafts) / 25 / 50 / You must be doing SOMETHING; you have to participate.
Agpeya Prayers / 25 / 75 / You must attend Agpeya; No Excuses!
There are 500 maximum points that can be earned each week. Each child MUST EARN A MINIMUM OF 400 POINTS TO BE ABLE TO GO ON THE FIELD TRIP AT THE END OF THE WEEK.
The kids are required to clean up after themselves, participate in activities, and maintain good Christian behavior. Points can be deducted or not awarded if the child does not comply with all camp rules and opts not to display proper Christian behavior. The child has to maintain a positive attitude and show respect to all his peers and servants, even on trips; doing otherwise might result in not letting the child go on the following trip or even getting sent home.
