Council notes – October 11, 2016

  • Canadian Union of Postal Workers provided information on the Canada Post review.
  • Water Security Agency has rescinded the precautionary drinking water advisory.
  • Request for Council to attend a meeting in Redvers on October 25. Council requested additional information be obtained with regard to the meeting.
  • Municipal Utilities quote received for $13,800.00 plus tax for a ventilation system at the Water Treatment Plant. Council reviewed and will not be making a decision on the quote until a decision on the direction of water filtration has been made. The ventilation system may not be requited if the water treatment plant is run strictly on well water.
  • Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command request of support through advertising in the Military Service Recognition Book. Council reviewed and though a great cause will be supporting the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
  • Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association Regional meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 15 in Carnduff. Registration is required to attend the meeting. Council will register two members to attend.
  • The Town of Radville will sign a two-year funding agreement with the Radville Laurier Regional Park providing $57,035.00 funding annually.
  • The accounts for approval, Cheques No. 26411 to 26442 totaling $47,215.13 were approved for payment.
  • Fire Department was called to a combine fire on September 29.
  • Staff met with Clifton Associates on September 29 with regard to the lagoon project. Clifton Associates are finalizing the downstream assessment.
  • Bylaw No. 2016-14 being a Bylaw to Establish Tax Concessions for New Residential Construction was given three readings at the meeting and passed by council members present.
  • Bylaw No. 2016-15 being a Bylaw to Provide for the Registration and Control of Dogs and Cats, was given three readings at the meeting and passed by council members present.
  • The Town of Radville approved the change of a liquor permit to Sky’s The Limit Investments Inc. from a tavern permit to a restaurant permit with a tavern endorsement.
  • Next regular meeting of Town Council – Monday, October 24, 2016, 7:00 p.m.
  • Advance Poll for Election - Thursday, October 20 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Election Day – Wednesday, October 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
