Business Leadership Executive /
This will be a part-time permanent role based at our offices atGround Floor, CAN Mezzanine, 49-51 East Rd, London, N1 6AH. Our offices are fully accessible.
We are disabled people leading change and working to create a society where everyone with lived experience of disability or health conditions can participate as full citizens. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our staff team in a key role for the organisation. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible fordeveloping, promoting and project managing a business leadership programme aimed at improving career prospects for disabled people. The Disability Rights UK Leadership Academy will be aimed at organisations keen to empower their disabled employees with the skills and tools needed to widen their career options.
The post holder should be able to work independently and to exercise sound judgment on issues/queries relating to disability, learning and development. Liaison and development with key external employers will be a feature of the work, as will co-ordinating the delivery and content of scheme. Personal lived experience of disability or a long term health condition will be an advantage.

Specific responsibilities:
- To work with relevant internal stake holders and external providers to devise the content, structure and schedule of the programme.
- To produce a framework to collect and record information for evaluation, feedback and outcomes.
- To market and promote the programme to employers in order to maximise course uptake and trainee capacity.
- Manage venues, delegates and training schedules.
- Recruit, co-ordinate and manage business mentors and support the mentor – trainee relationship.
- To establish good working relations with key sector bodies, stakeholders and most importantly employers / customers to develop market awareness and open up new opportunities for business expansion.
- To develop and maintain a sound understanding of the context and sector in which Disability Rights UK works, including an awareness of wider political, social and economic considerations.
- To proactively investigate all new opportunities within the UKsteming from the LeadershipAcademyfor generating new revenue streams and realise development opportunities.
- To build and maintain a pipeline of prospects and take responsibility for planning the relevant processes to progress.
- To horizon scan and keep abreast of sector developments to exploit opportunities for the benefit of Disability Rights UK.
- To establish viability of opportunities, logistically and financially, and report in a timely and thorough manner to the Business Development Manager.
- To produce and present regular thorough reports on the progress, effectiveness and success of the programme against set KPI’s
Knowledge, experience and skills:
- Demonstrable experience in a learning, HR or business development role with a proven track record of having exploited opportunities to generate external income.
- Highly motivated with demonstrable experience of meeting deadlines and achieving objectives.
- Sound commercial acumen with ability to assess and analyse risk.
- Experience of successfully marrying equality issues with business goals
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to speak authoritatively and credibly and inspire confidence.
- Ability to identify and build strong relationships and negotiate with, persuade and influence key stakeholders.
- Excellent project management skills with a hands-on approach to leading and managing projects to completion.
- Ability to work independently as well as take direction, prioritise own workload and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an aptitude for dealing with people in various contexts.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of equality and diversity issues and solutions; ideally in a variety of sectors.
Desirable experiences and attributes:
- Good knowledge and experience of diversity and inclusion strategies and personal development.
- Professional qualification in marketing or business.
