Dear Parents/Guardian,

I hope Friday 13th resulted in a good day for all!!!

SCHOOL ELECTIONS

We have completed our school elections for this year. I would like to thank all those children who prepared such wonderful manifestos. The teachers were extremely proud of the children’s commitment and passion whilst sharing their speeches with their peers.

Congratulations to the following pupils who have been elected to these important roles. I know they will be a sterling job in representing the school throughout the year.

We have arranged for our professional photographer Mr Crumpton, to attend school on Monday afternoon to photograph all our elected members, and their individual photographs will be displayed in the main entrance to the school. Please ensure that your child is dressed in shirt and tie for this occasion.

School Uniform

All the pupils look extremely smart as they begin their new academic year here at Wat’s Dyke. However, I have learnt my lesson, never to trust the words of a weather forecaster, as I was led to believe that the month of September was to be the warmest month of the year; indeed a heatwave!!! (Far from it!!) With this information to hand you will be all fully aware that I sent a text message prior to the start of the new term, informing parents that pupils may, if they so wish, wear summer dresses and polo tops. However, as the weather is not as it would seem, please can you ensure your child is dressed in shirt and tie ONLY from year 1-6 from MONDAY 16th SEPTEMBER. Thanking you in anticipation.

Parent Meetings

Don’t forget our annual information evenings next week, where you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s new class teacher and receive important information regarding the curriculum.

Monday 16th – Year 5/6

Tuesday 17th – Year ¾

Wednesday 18th – Upper Foundation Phase

Thursday 19th – Lower Foundation Phase

The meetings will be held in the main school hall, after which you will have the opportunity to view your child’s classroom environment.

Reminder:- we are unable to arrange a crèche facility within the school, and hope that you will be able to make the necessary arrangement for your children.

GREAT NEWS

Thanks to the support of one of our parents , Mrs …Jones, we have been successful in our bid from MBNA bank, and have received £3.500 towards the purchase of further ipads.

When we receive our class set, we would like to invite parents into a workshop to view the good practices in the use of ipads across the curriculum…so watch this space.
