JOB TITLE: Youth Programs Coordinator

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Youth Programs Coordinator is responsible for implementing the Food Bank's direct service programs for children, specifically the BackPack Program and the Kids' Farmers Market. This position will also research, develop, promote, and implement new programs for youth across the Southern Tier.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Manages relationships with all school districts who participate in the BackPack Program. Provides training, ongoing communication and troubleshooting. Schedules and conducts biennial site visits to BackPack districts and schools. Ensures food safety and program compliance as per Feeding America Program agreement requirements. Responds to questions about the program and addresses feedback, including complaints.
- Coordinates all aspects of BackPack orders for all participating school districts. Maintains proactive communication with Director of Warehouse Operations, Production Manager, Business Services staff, and school districts with regard to inventory, orders and deliveries. Tracks spending and works with the Director of Community Programs to stay within budget and to forecast expenses. Facilitates monthly cross-departmental BackPack meetings with Food Bank staff.
- Drives the development and implementation of cutting edge programs for youth, and promotes this expansion in the communities we serve, and with a wide variety of stakeholders. This process will include research, development, training, and promotion of these programs. Researches child hunger data, and stays current with child hunger legislation on a state and national level.
- Coordinates the timely distribution and collection of BackPack related paperwork and documentation including annual renewal paperwork, monthly statistics and year-end evaluations. Follows up with school districts when needed. Runs statistical reports regularly for funders and for Food Bank staff. Works with Director of Community Programs to analyze data and respond to feedback as needed.
- Coordinates all aspects of the Kids’ Farmers Market program, including budget preparation and purchasing, training volunteers, and promotion of the program.
HOURS: Full Time Position– 35 hours/week
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Public Administration.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year of experience working in a school setting or within the human services field.
RATE OF PAY: To be discussed at interview.
