JOB TITLE: Program Associate
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for providing advising and program support to the Adlerian Studies program and online education.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Program Director.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: NA
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Collaborate with Program Director and other AGS Adlerian Studies/General Studies faculty members to develop syllabi and to create and monitor academic outcomes that meet AGS graduation requirements and other competencies, as applicable.
2. Collaborate with Program Director in developing, implementing, and monitoring a state-of-the-art curriculum design for online and hybrid courses that meet the state and federal standards.
3. Develop the capacity to assist instructors with new course development in the online learning environment.
4. Provide program planning, advising, and guidance for students enrolled in Adlerian Studies (online) MA track, General studies MA track, and Adlerian Studies certificate.
5. Support ongoing maturation of program.
6. Regular attendance in meeting forums for which the Program Associate has volunteered or been assigned.
7. Regular supervisory meetings with Program Director.
8. Other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree. Doctorate preferred.
EXPERIENCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION:
Minimum of 3-5 years of higher education experience, including experience in online education; program planning and evaluation; online and on-campus curriculum design; distance and traditional student advising;

1. Current licensure in an area of study offered at Adler.
2. Commitment to current best practices and unyielding ethical practice.
3. Commitment to increasing diversity within the organization and to working with an increasingly diverse academic community and community at-large.
4. Commitment to community engagement/service.
5. Valid Minnesota Driver’s license and vehicle.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Solid understanding of best practices in counseling and psychotherapy, including issues and trends characterizing the general mental health field.
- Knowledge of best practices in higher education curriculum design and instructional practices
SKILLS:
- Superior communication skills, including significant communicating on the phone, speaking with the public, and producing written materials.
- Ability to serve as community ambassador for the Adler Graduate School, MN.
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one online management system.
- Ability to solve problems with students and instructors.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and organizations.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Work may require flexibility in scheduling hours of work and, in general, a professional orientation to task completion.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an educational environment and involves frequent contact with students, alumni, faculty, staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times.
