PT-RZ470 and PT-RZ370 Series Utilize LED/Laser-Combined Light Source to Deliver
Next Generation Reliability and Flexibility
Secaucus, NJ, June13, 2012 – Panasonic, a provider of professional projector solutions, today announced theworld’s first lamp free projector with Digital Link connection. Marked with 20,000hours of maintenance free advantage, wide installation flexibility and professional features, the PT-RZ470/RZ370 Series open a new era to reliable projection. Conventional lamp is replaced by LED/laser diodes which are boosted by Panasonic’s proprietary technologies to realize long lasting high brightness of more than 3,000 lm. The first installment of Panasonic’s lamp free projectors will be offered in two separate series; PT-RZ470 and PT-RZ370 Series. Each series will be offered in two different resolutions, 1080p(1920 x 1080) and WXGA (1,280 x 800). With capabilities that were not possible before with conventional lamp technology paired with Panasonic’s strong engineering for installation flexibility, the PT-RZ470 Series and PT-RZ370 Series will enrich projector usage experience for educational institutions and professional applications such as museums and digital signage.
Long Lasting Reliability and High Picture Quality
With the PT-RZ470/RZ370 Series, climbing up ladders for projector’s lamp replacement and filter cleaning are thing of the past. Approximately20,000hours of light source operation provide unsurpassed maintenance reliability from Panasonic. The durability is further supported by the1-chip DLP™ imaging device. The projector prides a long lasting high brightness and high picture quality thanks to Panasonic’s excellent optical engineering accuracy and cooling efficiency. Consequently, all of the models PT-RZ470 and PT-RW430 in the PT-RZ470 Series, and PT-RZ370 and PT-RW330 in the RZ-RZ370 Series achieve a brightness level of more than 3,000 lumens. The RZ470 Series goes beyond with picture quality by providing over 20,000:1 contrast ratio for superb black and detail expressions.
The models are all equipped with Panasonic’s proprietary Daylight View technology, where a built in ambient light sensor matches the image quality according to the surrounding condition. Together with the wide color space and vivid colors of the projector, they help viewing of the projector in rooms with much lighting. DICOM Simulation mode is also equipped for uses in medical training applications*2.
Expanding Installation Flexibility
The PT-RZ470/430 Series offer superior total cost of ownership not only from the long lasting light source, but from the time of installation. The Series is designed with 2x zoom and exceptionally wide lens shift range. This provides flexibility for replacement installations where you do not have to reposition the existing universal ceiling mounts.
The PT-RZ470 Series support 360 degrees installation and portrait mode projection. No intricate mirror is necessary to realize these special projections, changing and expanding the way projectors can be used in different applications.
Wiring cost savings and clean wiring are also possible, as each of the models provide Digital Link connection. Digital Link, based on HDBaseT™ technology allows HDMI, and other full uncompressed HD video signals, audio, and control commands to be sent via a single Cat5e/6 LAN cable when used together with the optional ET-YFB100 or other switchers with HDBaseT™ chipset. All signals can be transferred up to 100m (328ft). Panasonic has partneredwith industry-leading manufacturers of HDBaseT™ solutions including Crestron, Extron, and AMX, to insure the interoperability with Crestron’s DigitalMedia 8G+™ compatible switchers,Extron’S XTP Systemsand AMX’s Enova DVX and DGX Digital Media Switchers*3.
Operation Friendly and Excellent System Integration
Turning the projector on and off is easier than ever with the PT-RZ470/RZ370 Series. The projector turns on and reaches full brightness virtually instantaneously without any need for warm up time, enabling the projector to be used right when it is needed. There are no limitation on the number and duration of on/off cycle. Durability and reliability is further backed up by 24/7 operation capability.
The PT-RZ470 Series is equipped with many professional features that make it ideal for special installations. Built in Edge Blending, Color Matching and Multi-Unit Brightness Control functionenable multiple unit projection without any need for external processors. 3D compatibility is another benefit boasted by the new series. Combined with the 20,000 hours of maintenance free time, these professional features will surely lead way to new venues that previously may not have been feasible with projectors.
The PT-RZ470/RZ370Series will be available through authorized Panasonic resellers starting from 2012 Q4 and 2013 Q1. The series will have basic warranty of 3 years*4, while the light source operation will be warranted for more than 10,000 hours. Further extended warranty is currently under study.
