Dear Parent/Guardian:

I am Mrs. Moore and I am glad to have your child in my class this year. We can all look forward to the year ahead and its many rewarding experiences.

I believe that success begins with a positive attitude and continued self-discipline. In order to create an effective learning environment for your child, I have a Classroom Discipline Plan wherein every student has the opportunity to manage their own behavior. This plan will be in effect at all times.

Classroom Rules:

1.Follow Instructions thefirst timegiven.

2.Be in your seat and prepared for class when tardy bell rings- homework on desk, working bell ringer problems.

3.Remain seated and quiet during instruction. Raise your hand to be called on. You must have permission to be out of your seat or to speak.

4. Absolutely NO cell phones allowed during class.

5. No sleeping (or heads down), eating, drinking, chewing gum, or horseplay. Learning can only take place if you are focused and actively engaged in the class.

6.Be respectful to teacher, other students, and property. Keep your hands, feet, objects, and negative or distracting comments to yourself.

7.No cheating or copying others work- homework, classwork, quizzes/tests, or activities. Cheating of any sort will result in anautomatic zero,no discussion.

Consequences if a student chooses to break a rule or act out:

  1. Verbal warning (or non-verbal cue)
  2. Written warning, contact parent
  3. Detention – 15 minutes after school, possible seating change, contact parent
  4. Detention – 30 minutes after school, possible seating change, contact parent
  5. Office referral

Detentions must be served Monday or Friday after school. If detention is missed, the student will be moved immediately to step 5.

* At the discretion of the teacher, flagrant violations may result in a direct office referral.

I have read your Classroom Discipline Plan and have discussed it with my son/daughter and/or parent/guardian. I understand that detentions must be served within 3 days, or the student will be moved immediately to step 5.

  2. First and Last name
  3. Desk number & class period
  4. Date
  5. Assignment type
  6. Page #’s and problem #’s
  7. Incorrect headings will result in the deduction of a letter grade.
  8. Students will only receive credit for work if:
  9. Directions and original problem with labeled diagram are copied onto student’s paper
  10. Problems are numbered in order
  11. ALL work must be shown; No work = No credit
  12. Final answers are circled
  13. No copying work- that is Cheating!!!
  14. Cheating will result in you and the person you are cheating from receiving a zero
  15. Depending on circumstances, detentions may be given
  16. Tests will be returned for review and questions, then collected and saved by the teacher.
  17. Sleeping or laying your head down is NOT allowed. Students will show respect for themselves, the teacher and the art of learning by sitting up in their seat, facing forward and actively engaging in the class learning environment.
  18. Work for another class is NEVER to be done during geometry. Students caught doing work for other classes will forfeit the work and it will not be returned.

REMINDER: Do your best all the time!!

Classwork and homework are tools to see what you know and where you may need additional help.

  • Unless otherwise stated, homework and classwork are accounted for completeness and level of effort not correctness, SO DO YOUR BEST.
  • Come to class prepared and with your homework complete and have questions ready.
